It has been my experience that no matter what school you attend, if you are young, you just don't have enough knowledge, experience, and skills with which to compose a logical world. School is not enough. We must experience the reality of all people. That's one thing the Europeans do for their children to get cultured, is they make them travel to different parts of the world on every summer vacation. This is a priceless education. You get to see first-hand how other people live, think, and interact. You can't read about these things in books. Book knowledge will only take you so far.

Rebecca Simon has the potential to be educated and cultured, once she obtains the basics from Stanford, and then goes on to acquire more experience and exposure. She needs to apply the knowledge she gains at Stanford to a real-world scenario, then she will understand how things really work. Right now it's all theory, not practical experience.
