This museum is more for the public-at-large than for Chaldeans to visit...in my opinion.

...That`s the one thing that saves Chaldeans and keeps them sane..where "Assyrians" are just plain nuts...that they ACCEPT the fact that they are Iraqis. It makes all the difference in the world for they deal in tangible realities at least in the present. Making the cultural center for people BESIDES Chaldeans is also a wise move...you KNOW who you are...it`s time to teach others.

...The "Assyrian position is to deny the obvious every day and in every way they can...they are more insular and suspicious. I still think that Chaldeans are merely the Christians who decided to be full-fledged Iraqi citizens...to deal with Muslims as felow human beans...to let ancient glories belong to the past and see what they could do in THIS age...whereas the most fanatical "Assyrians" stayed in villages all their lives...and in their heads...thought themselves as above common Muslims...thought they had several things coming to them..and determined to beg and whine for "justice" and the "recognition" of "their rights".

There is no "Assyrian" cultural center and there never will be. Norman Solkha`s plywood palace in Chicago is the closest we`ll get and you can`t begin to imagine what a horror it is...and of course you`ve seen the "Basement Cultural, Art and Science Center and Men`s Room" at the AUA, also in Chicago.
