OK, fine!
I will take your advice and go back to where it all started.

Approximately, some 1300 years ago 400,000 Arabians left the Arabian Peninsula headed towards what we now call Iraq.

...there were no 400,000 Arabs in the entire peninsula...that is absurd on the face of it.

The objective was to show everyone in their path that (and I will quote you) “my kabob is better than yours".

...their objective was to stop the Christians of Byzantium from murdering everyone in their path south, or forcibly converting them, as they marched down to conquer the peninsula. The Romans of the eastern empire were on a killing spree...their emperors killed every Jew in their path who would not forcibly convert. We know what these Christians did in the rest of the world as well..they murdered half the world into Jesus...the Muslims were not going to wait for them.

I will not go into how a measly 400,000 can subjugate millions other than saying that the millions had opted for to leave their national pride for the sake of ever lasting life.

..there were no millions and millions. You shouldn't expose your foolishness so readily. And what did you leave when you left Ashur for a Jew religion? Who offred YOU everlasting life...?

The Arabian armies did not come with flowers in their hands.

...that's because the Christians who first came for THEM didn't have flowers in their hands either. The Byzantines coined a name for bizarre cruelty, also not done with flowers. The Muslims weren't facing Christian villagers who only wanted to pray in peace, they were up against the most brutal killing machine ever invented...one that had become even worse when it turned Christian for it was only then that they began persecuting and murdering fellow Christians.

They came to present to you their holy book in one hand and a sharp scimitar in the other.

...that's bullshit...the usual history you learned at some village church...everyone had swords back then...there were no cops. They came to defeat the Christians and keep them from their heartland...of course they settled and kept the lands they won, same as the Assyrians used to do. Muslims never compelled anyone to become Muslim, that's what Christians did...they are the only ones to forcibly convert people and THEN come back at them with the Inquisition for not being "sincere" in their conversion.

The in-between solution was that you paid a shameful marginalizing fine for being a Christian.

...there was nothing shameful about it...no diffeent from what the Assyrians did when they collected tribute...armies regularly fed off the land as they travelled...the Muslims collected a tax..they did NOT murder everyone and burn the villages, taking whatever they wanted and spoiling the rest...this was regular Christian habit...and even when they went on Crusade the Christians stole and murdered their way across CHRISTIAN lands till cities and towns would no longer open their gates to them..to Christians going to do the Lord's work...which on the Third Crusade included attacking and conquering and robbing Byzantium..a CHRISTIAN city. It was absolutely normal in those days to collect tribute...the tax on Christians was nothing more then a fee...and often enough the Christians, who would have been killed as heretics by the Christian Romans, were glad to pay for the protection they received...as in one case Khalid ibn Walid, the Sword of Islam, returned this tax to the Christian villagers who begged him to protect them from the Christian armies...and were glad to pay it again when he retuened and saved them from the Christians!

Our numbers shrank and kept on dwindling to where we are now. The proof for me is the fact that I am 13000 miles away from my ancestral homeland.

...they shrank because Assyrians had the good sense to get off their knees, stop begging a carpenter for salvation and rode off as Muslims to create yet another fabulous empire..like they USED to do...at no time in our history had we EVER begged and wept and implored someone else to come save us...we never needed saving...the inspiration and example of Islam was far closer to what we used to expect of ourselves than Christ ever was.

..you are far from your ancestral lands because you were incompetant and could not get ahead there..and you blamed this on Muhammad...you people need someone else to blame as much as you need someone else to rescue you. The one constant is that none of you can take responsibility for anything...this current war on Iraq you begged for just sort of "didn't work", as far as you're concerned...was it YOUR fault that even more of you have been killed and scattered...no, of COURSE not...you never mean anything!

I will quote a few chapters (sura and verse) from the Quraan so that you can see that a Christian kind of love is not what has worked for us. Other than to promote understanding, this should not be viewed as promoting love or hate.

...and this quoting crap won't do any longer...you bring us a TRANSLATION done by a recognized Muslim scholar..not the kind the Kenfuck finds who tell him they are TRAPPED in their religion and would Christians please bomb their homes and SAVE them!

Please refer to the following versus in the Quraan:
Sura Verse
Al-baqara 173 /190 /191/ 193 /216 /253
Umran 3 /13 /42-58 /121/144/169
AL-Nisa 3 /157
Al-Maida 51 / 56
Al-Anam 163
Al-Anfal all of it.

These are just the first 900 pages of the Quraan. Please read all this and then tell me that I should still pray with both eyes shut.

..pray on your knees all you want to...the rest of us, plus the Christians of Iraq who STAYED there and would have liked nothing more than to STAY, will work for peace and tolerance in Iraq...which is what you people hate to contemplate...your "knowledge" is about as valid as what a white Racist "knows" about African-Americans.

Our life span is not that long and what we have seen and learn in life is enough for me to pray with at least one eye open.

...keep praying....thank Ashur other Assyrians got off their knees long ago...and you should thank Islam...when they arrived in BetNahrain you and your thugs and bishops were attacking each other then as now...the Muslims imposed a truce and, as they cared not at all which sect was "right", you were ALL allowed to pray to Jesus in whatever fashion you wanted...whereas, had the Byzantines conquered Betnahrain, you ALL would have been killed as heretics...or forcibly converted to orthodoxy...show a little gratitude.

I am sure that there are many good and honest Muslim people that we have seen,

...and I have no doubt there must be a few good Christians.

worked and befriended but those are just a tiny minority that interact on humanly basis but once you bring the religion in you will see that a few of the same people will take a backward step to re-assess you.

...who is attacking a nation thousands of miles from their own country? Who has starved children to death? Who has ruined Iraq even more since they took over responsibility for it? Who started a war based on lies and deceit..one in which money and oil were the main objectives...and who is crying all over again that they wuz "betrayed"? 15 Saudis attacked America and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, among them thousands of Christians, have paid the price...does this strike you as fair or just?

Your article mentioned how these same people that treasure and protect the ancient artifacts (dead objects) and the same time totally ignore and belittle the existence of the living owners.

..not at all. No one belittled Dr Donny George...it is safe to say that had you been of any value and had any real pride in anything and bothered to study as Dr George did, YOU could have held his position. Those of you who spred this swill are guilty of sedition and would find yourselves in trouble in ANY country where you did this. I seem to recall you were all upset about the dead stones of Ashur...said that those stones were more important than clean water for LIVING Iraqis...even the Christians who also need clean water.

For me the proof is in the way I live in a society. Our lives in Iraq from the living memory to the history progression have been nothing short of Al-Anfal.

..pure rot...there were even liquor stores under terrible Islam....many thousands and thousands of Christians in Iraq lived perfectly contended lives with no desire to go to Christian countries...but then you call them all traitors for doing so. How come EVERY Christian didn't run out with you? Why have over 50,000 left NOW...since this war you prayed for occured? Did Islam drive them out or CHRIST?

Ms. Margaret, please allow me to say that this is not a personal issue. I am simply saying what I know. If I am wrong then I need some persuasion, not the “gentler kind” but is real constitutional articles and real deeds.

...it was also not a personal letter to you...not personal at all. Who gives a good goddamn WHAT you think? Where do you matter for anything?

So far, there has been nothing

...and there never will be. You are gone from BetNahrain...that is all that counts. The tragedy is that 50,000 others who wished to stay were driven out by CHRISTIANS...never by Muslims.
