...Now that the CIA has been made over you can bet there will be all sorts of "intelligence" supporting pre-emptive war anywhere there is profit to be made by overfat Conglomerates who have no patience for business as usual. Iran can easily be made a threat...the same Mullahs we replaced the Shah with have no friends anywhere in the West...how hard will it be to convince Americans that Iranians want to be "liberated" from the Mullahs? They DO...but who put them there in the first place? Who replaced one puppet regime with another in Iran...if not the United States...again?

This is going to take more soldiers than America has, apparently....thought why it should take 150,000 soldiers to back up the few who are actually murdering Iraqis is unclear. Right now the Military is making a big show of calling back or keeping in any number of people who're obviously being treated illegally and unjestly...are you buying this too as a "mistake" on their part...like they don't KNOW there will be some hue and cry about it?

Soldiers Challenge Enlistment Extensions
(AP) - Eight soldiers are challenging the Army's policy requiring them to serve longer than the terms of their enlistment contracts. In a lawsuit being filed Monday in federal court, the soldiers are seeking a judge's order requiring the Army to immediately release them from service. "The Army made an agreement with me and I expected them to honor it," said David Qualls, one of the plaintiffs. He signed up in July 2003 for a one-year stint in the Arkansas National Guard but has been told he will remain on active duty in Iraq until next year.

...The challenge is to make Americans WANT to send their children off to get killed and kill. To do that we're going to have to be coaxed, cajoled, lied to, shamed and finally kicked into compliance. For that we need more enemies...and nothing is easier than to make enemies for Americans these days.

...Never has such a rich and powerful nation done so much to ensure insecuirty among its people...we must be the most vulnerable and fighteneed people on earth. I'm reminded of the time in a Safeway store in Arizona, where carrying a gun in the open is legal, that I saw the strangest sight...an old woman in her 80s was at the deli counter buying cheese when in strode a tall rugged cowboy type...he ordered a pound of ham and while we all stood around apparently oblivious to the dangers of modern life in a powerful country...only the cowboy had a gun and holster at his side. The most "manly" among us was the most scared chicken-shit of us all. The rest of us were either so stupid...or courageous, as to shop for mustard at the local grocery store without a .44 magnum strapped to our leg.

...damfool nation.
