Jews rioted for the third straight day after stories appeared in a Berlin newspaper describing their religion as a "gutter religion". German Jews were outraged at cartoons of rabbis and other central figures as rats with exaggerated features. Jewish crowds converged on the offices of the fledgling Nazi Party and in the ensuing melee three Nazi officials were stomped to death...one of them was identified as Adolf Schiklegrubber. Another, Herr grair, was badly ruffled. "What about freedom of the press", he was heard to shout.
