I know Assyrians/Chaldeans/Whatever you call them that call themselves various names. I wanted to know what you, the participants of the forum, went by.

Personally, if someone asks me about my ancestry, I tell them that my family traces its roots back to Iraq, and if I am questioned more, then I say that I am Chaldean-Iraqi. "Are you Christian or Muslim?" I say neither, but my family follows Christianity. "What language do you speak?" My family speaks Arabic and Chaldean.

So...
Iraq --> Chaldean Iraqi --> Non-Religious --> Arabic/Chaldean/English

How would you respond? How do you see yourself?

I know, Farid might say "I am a human bean", and I do recognize the validity of not identifying one's self on the basis of social/economic/religious/cultural/political lines, however, we are at InsideAssyria after all, and I guess my question should be "How do you identify yourself to someone who is curious to know about your cultural background?"

Please, Ado, try and answer me honestly.

P.S. It goes without saying that I am an American citizen, by virtue of my birth. I have not mentioned it above. This behaviour is by design.
