...in any other website in Assria these questions you raise would have earned your mother several epithets...their Assria looks and feels very much like the Inquisition...or the Dark Ages they seem to relish and miss so much.

...It just amazes me...what we just witenessed here...and never mind that I've known Narsai and worked with him for over 23 years and had to stand by today, aghast, and hear a string of vulgar expletives come from his mouth that could be heard down the street.

...I have no hard feelings because I could see how stressed out he was by this entire episode...not just because of me but Mar Bawi and the boycott of his event because he dared include the name of a Bishop...I mean Fred Aprim's name is up there, for chrissakes!!! Right by the mayor's and sentaors...sticking out like a turd in the proverbial punchbowl. If Narsai knew Aprim there is NO WAY he would have allowed his name on a piece of paper with his...especially since Aprim does nothing much but print his own books.

..this is the rank opportunism and self-service these people engage in, covering it all over with pleas for poor Nineveh and their pride. Someone in AIDS is obviously enamored of Aprim and used Narsai's event as a way to polish old Aprim up a little. I'll fix that.

...neither would he ever have signed on to work with people who will NOT go to his function because they don't like the people he choses to include...this Mar Bawi thing is another instance when you see clearly what this event is really about...it seems a whole lot of people who at one time and here and there cared "deeply" for the Iraqi people..all of a sudden could care less...if THEIR balls aren't stroked just right.

...I can't fathom the thinking of a charitible organization that refuses donations...and why? because I have been "critical" of them, Can't they see they just proved me right?

...I won't hold a grudge against Narsai for his behavior today...I know first hand what these people can do to you with their stupidities...you agree to work with them, thinking they must have their heads on straight...then, little by little things happen here and there that make you begin to wonder if maybe YOU aren't the crazy one...that's how Narsai looked and acted today...like a crazy one. And they almost got me to act the same way...almost.

...I predict Narsai is going to distance himself from them real fast. He might try to restructure the thing so he has more control over things like sneaking your friend's name on there so he can sell more books somehow.

...Narsai could have raised money for Iraqis and NEVER had a single Assyrian work with him...he got fooled into thinking these people were for real...and his mistake is rapidly sinking in. He could have targetted normal people instead of exclusively aim at Assyrians...normal people who know of him would have come to an evenings fine dining and art auction...and no one would have tied his hands...it might have meant more work up front for him, instead of relying on the "devotion" of Assyrian volunteers who wanted to "help" Iraqis. But after that initial bit...he would not have found himself hamstrung by backbiting Aprims and Bejans and the followers of warring Bishops.

..it never pays to take short-cuts...and it NEVER pays to work with amateurs...no matter how much their hearts bleed. people with bleeding hearts are also foolish people.
