If they "Allowed" Assyria and everyone in it to be better or better off, how would they possibly be able to exert their influence and maintain their grip on this ignorant and helpless naytion?

..if you look at it from their point of view, they have EVERY reason to be worried...sort of like Einstein entering a class where the teacher relies entirely on the curve when grading and the brightest person in the class, before Madame Curie showed up, is APRIM!!! And Shushan is the cheerleader.
