And even though many of us have Christian names and have had them for so long, the surge of nationalism (with parents naming their children after Assyrian Kings and figures) was a great rejuvenation of nationalism. What is wrong from attempting to flee the “Arabization” and “Kurdification” processes pushed upon us? Should we desist and become ethnically Arabs and religiously Christians? ”..you are NOT "my" fellow Assyrians..you are CHRISTIANS...no Jew today can claim to still be a Jew if he switches religions...no Jew who converts to Islam or Christ would DARE say he was still a Jew. You people ran after a Jew and now you want to tell us that makes you even MORE Assyrian..even while you damn to hell all CHRISTIAN ASSYRIANS who happen to differ from you in some minor aspect of the SAME FRIGGIN RELIGION...yet you remain "Assyrian" when you switch to an entriely DIFFERENT religion? It is absolutely idiotic and silly of you to attempt to claim that if one changes his religion his nationality changes as well. I can be an Australian Christian and change my religion to Buddhist and become an Australian Buddhist. Similarly one can become an Assyrian Muslim or an Assyrian Hindu. ”...you aren`t Assyrian either.” ***How the hell am I not an Assyrian? What is wrong with you? How can you flagrantly say that people are not the nationality they have been for thousands of years? If I am not an Assyrian what am I? ”..where did you ever get that idea? Show me ONE of you who has built ANYTHING anywhere...just one. And I don`t mean singing to your own chorus or smelling your own farts. I mean in the WORLD!” ***Built what exactly? A building, a monument? What? My money has gone to paying for the building of Churches, cultural centers, monuments etc. “Someone who "hates" Assyrians would hardly have spent 30 years and hundreds of thousands of his own dollars to create Assyrian sculpture...or to built two public monuments...one in San Francisco and one that should have gone to Chicago but will now be in California as well. These are not the acts of someone who "hates"..let alone hates the Assyrian Heritage.” ***I commend you on your monuments but if you loved Assyrian sculpture and Assyrian arts why are you attempting to consistently tell me that I am not an Assyrian? Are you stating that I and millions of others are not Assyrians ethnically or are you stating that we are not worthy enough to be Assyrians according to you high-held standards? ”...there you go again...whoever doesn`t agree with you is a traitor, an enema and now a heretic too. Since I don`t believe a word of your tripe, how can I be a heretic...what is my heresy? Neither you nor Jesus are not the star I set my course by, therefore I can`t be said to deviate from your "guiding light". I have my own beliefs...they are not heresies but my own beliefs...and while the friggin fathers of the Church may snuggle up to you and you may all rent a house by the sea and live happily ever after...you can count on it that no ASSYRIAN would give you the time of day...I sail by the light of Ashur to which YOU are the heretic...and thank goodness too...the Jews have more uses for you than Assyrians do.” ***Let me address this slow enough so your mind can comprehend it. Firstly you are quite entitled to have any opinion you have and discuss it, and I have the right to tell you are a fruitcake who doesn’t know what he is talking about! And if I have the opportunity I will exercise that right … just as you accuse me of not being an Assyrian and being a heretic. And I wish the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was the star by which you set your course for the eternal salvation which you can only achieve through our merciful Lord. If you don’t have respect for the fathers of the Church then I suggest you keep it to yourself. While I believe in democratic rights to free speech this doesn’t mean one can flagrantly attack those who have given so much for us. Lastly, if indeed you are a worshipper of Ashur and the pagan Gods, I hope you are able to do as my Assyrian ancestors so smartly did 2000 years ago in Edessa and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as the “Light of the World”. --------------------- Concerned Assyrian |
