...one of the things I dislike in what Rosie and others do is this shameful self-promotion...it's one thing to say..."read my book."...or " see my sculpture here"...it's another to encourage people to fawn on you and then use their comments as some sort of endorsement.

You have ANY idea how I could present myself...how many testimonials I could have copied down, "published" and peddled around the community?

...how many times I've had to stop people from calling me "great" and "historical" and a GIANT? Assyrians LOVE to compliment you for their OWN sake..they love hearing those words tumble from their own lips..it has nothing to do with the object of their fawning adoration..maybe it's just sheer desperation...aside from getting "martyred" we don't seem to manage much of note.

Rosie was out there HUSTLING praise...calling attention to herself in every way she could...well, if you're going to do that, if you want to make yourself KNOWN to everybody you can't reasonably expect to be ADORED by all of them as well...someone is BOUND to sing a different song...someone is BOUND to disagree with you and your thousands of fans..in other words and as the Law recognizes: people who put THEMSELVES in the public eye can NOT then claim the privilege of anonymity...or to be left alone and treated just like everyone else...THEY set themselves apart by their own actions...and in Rosie's case there seemed to be no end of self-promotion..in that case take some hard knocks as well...

...who promised Rosie a rose garden?
