The Korean community in Chicago is the same way. They bring THEIR people here and ask that they contribute to the community. “What can you do to make us better” is THEIR only question. Let’s say the answer is “I’m a butcher”. With that said the community digs into THEIR bank account and helps this family open a butcher shop. All they ask in return is a monthly donation to help more of THEIR kind just as the community helped them. There is no end to this donation, never. No business goes down because the others, of THEIR kind, support them by buying Korean. They have built is a foundation of THEIR kind and they all have the same goal, to help THEIR people.

When I first heard of this from a buddy who just filmed a feature while us little folks were shooting 5 minute shorts, with the budget coming from THEIR own, I was in love.

I thought “how fuckin’ sweet is this, we can do that, I WOULD do that”. Then, reality kicked me in the eshqateh, I’m Assyrian. How long before one of OUR kind says “fuck you, I aint donating any more monies to you beebles, I vork hard to make it, you no help me, you number one geenawa”?

Oh, and who the hell is this "will" you speak of?
