I just had a flash-back that I want to share with you all.

When I was a kid, I used to write poetry about the leaders of this nation. They were a series of poems called "These Pillars of Society". The reason I came up with these poems is due to my impression of so-called Assyrian leaders, (political and religious).

My most vivid impressions as a young teenager were the political leaders arriving at various cultural clubs for meetings and pow wows. These leaders had puffed-out chests as they walked into the crowd in slow motion, waving like the queen of England, striding slowly, pausing occasionally to pose for photos. They would be driven in expensive cars, bowed to by the awaiting crowd, cheered and kissed and hugged and showered with adoration.

The religious leader would arrive in limosines, surrounded by security guards. They would roll out the red carpet and set-up a throne for them to sit on. As they came out of the limosines, the big cross would be born by someone walking in front of them, as the crowd came to kiss their hands and rings. They also had puffed out chests.

I was always in the sociologist's corner, (even back then) observing all that was going in Assyria and wondering why these fools have never done a damn thing for this nation that would be worthy of mention. We were the same crap for almost one hundred years now. Same run down social clubs, same rotting smell, same bingo players, same poker players, same thieves, liers, and cheats, getting rich off the poor Assyrians!
