...but it DID. The Assyrians and Babylonians and everyone else who survived blended in mixed with everybody else...like they`d been doing in that region since beforew Sumer...Sargon the Great came and mixed Semites with Sumerians...centuries later the Amorites came from the desert and mixed andf blended...did the Sumerians disappear? Of course not...did thje Amorites disappear when centuries later another tribe came from the desert, the Arabs..of course not. Nobody disappeared...but they blended and mixed and produced new strains and ethnicities and cities and states...the thing that pisses you Christians off is that islam came from the desrt in one of those migrations and it displaced Christianity as the dominant new religion in the region...

Ask any religious historian and they will tell you that the Assyrians in the Kingdom of Edessa did convert to Christianity. If as you claim this is a myth created in the 20th century by priest perhaps you can explain the 6th century artwork which still exists today depicting the conversion.
