...of course not. What a dumb thing to claim. There is no modern nation in existence that we can point to...no one has a passport or birth certificate that says such a thing...

...we can say it is in "our hearts"...but like Bush we only manage to make people wonder if we have anything in our heads.

...there are Greeks today, but nobody but NOBODY imagines they are direct descendants of the ancient Greeks...which is something we claim to be: DIRECT and then PURE descendants of the ancient Assyrians. That is absurd and the reason why the people making that claim the loudest are also the stupidest among us.

...if we want to say that we come from a region where the ancient Assyrian heritage was born..along with Chaldean, Babylonian and a few others, INCLUDING Islamic...then no one can argue against us. Where we collapse into babbling is when religion enters into it and we say that to be an Assyrian you MUST be a Christian. and CANNOT be Muslim, or anything else.

,,,that is when we tip our hand and everyone, except us, can see the fraud we're trying to pull off.

...all the people of that region share a common ANCESTRY...that is all...and it is MORE than enough, if you aren't a scoundrel. This other business stinks to high heaven of Christian highjinks...an attempt to gain some advantage for the squabbling churches we are saddled with.

...either EVERYONE in the Mideast is of "Assyrian descent" or no one is.
