Assyrians of Eastern Massachusetts

A recently published book

By Ninos Donabed and Sargon Donabed

Assyrians of Eastern Massachusetts covers the immigration of predominantly Christian Assyrians to Massachusetts from the Ottoman Empire beginning at the end of the 19th century. These immigrants established a multitude of cultural, social, and political institutions to help promote the awareness of Assyria. The book covers the establishment of St. Mary's Assyrian Apostolic Church, the first of its kind outside of the Middle East, which prompted the solidarity of Assyrians in Massachusetts and became a model for later settlements of Assyrians in the United States. Through family portraits and comment from both religious and secular institutions, Assyrians of Eastern Massachusetts addresses the adjustment off this community in the United States.

Assyrians of Eastern Massachusetts was released May 22, 2006. The book is published by Arcadia Publishing and part of the Images of America series. Assyrians of Eastern Massachusetts will go on sale for a price of $19.99. However, direct purchases of multiple books from the authors will result in considerable savings for the buyer.

...something called "Tafford Publishing" prints...I said PRINTS, these books for "authors". This is as big a scam as the motel universities where Dadeeshoos get doctorates in whatever they want, if they pay. Thereīs no such thing as a legitimate history book written by anyone named Donabed or Aprim...certainly not for $19.99.

...some people have found a way to make money by tapping into every frustrated "authorīs" view of him or herself as someone who DESERVES to be read because he or she KNOWS the TRUTH...and those damn legitimate publishing houses, like Random House or Oxford University Press etc., are only concerned about making MONEY..which is odd because the only way Tafford Publishing PRINTS your book is if you pay them...which means they too are in the buisness for the MONEY...but whereas other legitimate publishers go through several hoops to vet and review manuscripts, Tafford and the rest will print whatever the hell you want to say...they could give a shit because they know any damfool who thinks he or she is getting HISTORY from these "books" is too stupid to ever know he or she was being had...since the only ones who would bother with such "books" are the cousins and friends and tribal members of the "authors".

You know damn well Tafford didnīt PAY the Donabeds to write this book...and they arenīt in the business for free...just because they like to print dumb books. That can only mean one thing...the Donabeds paid Tafford...and Tafford isnīt going to check squat or refute ANYTHING..if anything theyīll play along and even suggest the Donabeds write Volume TWO...and maybe three and four...why not...itīs more money for Tafford...they donīt give a shit if you sell any either...thatīs your problem...they have your money, they could care what happpens to your "book" after that...and to complete the fraud, Amazon and others will take orders for these bogus books...why not? Theyīre in the business to make money too and these days everybody and their blind dog is writing "books" AND paying to have them PRINTED....why shouldnīt Amazon skim a bit? They also know this helps legitimize these ditzy "books"...which benefits them in the end.

Is anyone hurt by all of this? Not really...not unless you really believe youīve produced "authors".
