...can anyone think of a scenario where torture brings about any usefull result? Has anyone ever gotten information through torture that proved valuable or reliable? Isn't this a myth kept alive by gritty movie stars who grit their teeth and say "bring it on"? ...the Soviets, the Nazis and now we Americans don't use torture and humiliation to "get information"...the very existance of these places is an instrument of organized Terror. Given the way these kinds of governmentts operate we all know anyone can be arrested, charged with nothing and disappear...and isn't that the whole reson they exist? That knowledge, that for the slightest misstep, or for no reason at all, you, your children or anyone near to you can be arrested on charges no one will ever reveal...ne kept indefinitely, have no legal recourse and be treated in ways we all know are painful, degrading and violent... --------------------- |
