...on a dare GM got a job with Consolidated God Railways. In no time he was dear to the company president, whom he considered a very god on earth. GM was promoted along the way...even though he caused several disasters. He had a penchant for sending trains filled with people crashing into other trains filled with people...setting them on the same track because he was distracted asking Susie Q for her phone number. Then there was the time he sent a freight train filled with atomic waste plunging into a gorge whose train trestle had been removed years earlier...by GM. And who can forget the time he sent a train into downtown Los Angeles filled with cholrine gas on tracks that hadn`t been used in ages and ended abruptly right where Childrens Hospital used to be?

Of course the Board of Directors and " God" himself hated it when GM screwed up...they lamented the wasted lives, ruined fortunes, destroyed hospitals...but lord, lord how they LOVED GM...jest couldn`t get enough of the bastard. They couldn`t get enough of the incompetant oaf...after ten years with the railroad GM had cost them 125 million dollars plus over 16,000 killed through his negligence and charm...but it mattered not at all to the president of the Railroad Company...sure...he HATED the fuck-ups...but oh how he LOVED the motherfucker!

Years later Don came along...looked at the condition of the railroad...the diminshed service...the abject fear in the populace any time a train thundered past...the destruction along the tracks, the empty buildings where once thriving companies had been..the deserted homes and abandoned neighborhoods where once gainfully employed people had lived and raised families...all of it brought to a screeching halt by the steady decline of rail transport...and he thought to himself, "this world and the trains in it are so bad...might as well take the evening special to heaven."

Moral: A fuck-up IS a fuck-up. Love him...if you can`t do any better but DON`T expect the trains to run on time.
