While we all welcome people being brought to justice we need to keep consider a few things.

US trained Bin Laden had no link to US installed and WMD supplied Saddam Hussein. Something that we need to keep repeating for the American readers.

Also there was no evidence that US trained and supported Bin Laden orchestrated 9/11. If there was the US would've revealed it to the world rather than invade Afghanistan.

Bin Laden was an asset and while he ran amok the US used his "boogeyman" status as an excuse to invade Iraq to control the Middle Eastern black gold reserves and Afghanistan to control the black gold pipeline to the Caspian Sea.

And what an abject failure both invasions turned out to be. Iraq was only just pacified by the CIA most likely infiltrating and radicalising the Shiite and Sunni fundamentalists sparking a civil war that sapped the resistance's strength while dividing and conquering Iraq's sects.

In Afghanistan the US installed Taleban kept returning stronger every season taking a greater toll of US lives forcing Obama to order a surge similar to the one that pacified Iraq.

Meanwhile the Middle Easterners had had enough of US installed dictators and the millitant autocratic strongmen that opposed them. A democratic Jasmine revolution swept the region and threatened to overthrow the US petro-dollar hegemony that it uses to maintain its economic and military supremacy.

Time had run out in Afghanistan and Obama needed to withdraw his forces in order to have reserves to invade the Middle East if they decide to ever become democratic.

So while the US knew of Bin Laden for close to a year they only reeled in the guy wcoincidently at the same time that General Patreus was promoted to head of the CIA.

With that the two main players in Afghanistan Bin Laden and Patreus have been removed providing a convenient excuse for Obama to claim that his surge had been successful.

Be prepared in the next few months for the US to draw down their forces in Afghanistan. This is great news for thje poor people of Afghanistan but bad news for the Middle Easterners.

It means that Obama is preparing to counter the Jasmine revolution if the soon to be democratic Middle Eastern nations decide to overthrow petrodollar recycling and finally destroy the frsagile US economy.
