..this new round of generals and "ex" critics who now see "hope" with the surge and all that rot is Bush's way of throwing the Dems enough of a lifeline to hang onto his failed policy...for fear they'll look "defeatist" if they don't. It's a brilliant step that is nonetheless OBVIOUS..it's all campaign trickery and very little leadership.
