Website title:

diaspora

Main Entry:
di·as·po·ra Listen to the pronunciation of diaspora
Pronunciation:
\dī-ˈas-p(ə-)rə, dē-\
Function:
noun
Etymology:
Greek, dispersion, from diaspeirein to scatter, from dia- + speirein to sow
Date:
1881

1capitalized a: the settling of scattered colonies of Jews outside Palestine after the Babylonian exile b: the area outside Palestine settled by Jews c: the Jews living outside Palestine or modern Israel.

...whenever the word is capitalized, it refers to a specific historical event, confined to the Jews...not anyone else. JUST the Jews. When we say WE suffered a Diaspora, we are using the word incorrectly.

2 a: the movement, migration, or scattering of a people away from an established or ancestral homeland <the black diaspora to northern cities> b: people settled far from their ancestral homelands <African diaspora> c: the place where these people live.

...in this meaning we see that almost every group has had their diaspora...but they have not had THE Diaspora...that belongs to the Jews and for good reason too. The Jews, all of them, were forced out of Palestine by the Romans...they didn't leave of their own free will, or even because times were hard. They were more than willing to stay and put up with whatever the Romans wanted to dish out...but they were forcibly ejected.

..for all our wailing and pissing and moaning we were not "forced out" of BetNahrain....as we can plainly see we've been there all this time and, if not for the Christians again, we'd be glad to remain...no matter the hardships. People who leave on their own, whose friends and relatives remain behind, are hardly in a Diaspora...they're just moving looking for better opportunity fore themselves...the Irish migrated to America by the thousands during the Potato Famine...it was a diaspora, of sorts..but it wasn't a DIASPORA.

..these efforts of our to get into Paradise on the coat tails of a dead Jew..or gain pity for ourselves here on earth by pretending we suffered as much as they did are sad. We fool no one.
