Any student, scholar or historian of the early followers of Jesus in Palestine will find striking similarities between them and Islam, in fact, they are almost identical. The earliest followers of Jesus(as) were not Christians and their religion was not Christianity. There was no such thing early on and it wasn't until around a half century after Jesus was already gone from the scene that the name "Christians" was invented and it was never applied or used by the actual Hebrew followers. These people were a monotheistic community who continued worshiping God alone without any partners(strict monotheism), they were pious upholders of the law(torah), they were willing to fight until death instead of bowing a knee to Rome or comitt blasphemy against their law giver(God). They did not worship Jesus but he was seen correctly as their prophet, messenger, teacher, messiah(anointed one or chosen) and they did not aghere to hardly any of the doctrines of Christianity. The name these people were known by was "people of the way" or as translated into Arabic, "ahlal Sunnah".

These early groups never liked Paul who was then Saul and they never accepted him. He was a Roman citizen, an agent and open killer of the "people of the way". He was able to freely travel through the empire and spread his lies about Jesus while the real followers were persecured, hated and unable to travel freely. Some of the early Jews who accepted Jesus and were his followers are also knows as Ebionites, Nazrites, and few others. What is interesting about these early groups is that both their beliefs and actions are very similar to Islam. Their writings do not mention the trinity at all, nor do they refer to Jesus as a deity, there is no mention of the crucifixion and in fact, some even rejected it in their writings and they had no eucharist, original sin and any of the other dogmas of Christianity.

These groups florished and were around until at least the 5th century CE and they were found throughout the Middle East. Their ideas continued to exist even after as they sort of secretely maintained their ideas while they were long persecuted by Christians just as Nestorians, Jacobites, Paulicians, Araians and others were all persecuted and removed by violence. As for Christianity, this too was never a single religion but it was aplit among many sects, communities and churches. Each church had its own authority and their owh dogmas and what they considered scripture. The followers of Jesus(as) never actually went to non-Jews and tried to convert them at all. It was Paul who converted non-Jews and that too not into the religion of Jesus but the religion that was invented about Jesus(as).

Historians and scholars are aware of these earliest followers of Jesus and how similar they were to Islam. They are also aware that the majority of these monotheistic, unitarian and early followers of Jesus accepted Islam and saw this as the continuation of the earlier messege. The Nestorians of today are not the same as the early and original ones who were declared hereitics. The early Nestorians just like the many other followers of Jesus saw him as human representitive of God and not actually God. They did not worship Jesus and they did not adhere to this doctrin of the trinity. They were more along side the Arian ideas and this is why they were declared hereitics as well. Today's Nestorians have strayed far from the original teachings of Nestorios but for the earlier ones, the majority of them accepted Islam in masses and they were from among some of the earliest non-Arabs to embrace Islam.

Now the real question is do Muslims really reject Jesus and hate him as Christians try to portray or is it just more propaganda? The answer is, No, Islam does not reject Jesus and in fact one is not even a Muslim if we don't believe in him. He is one of our greatest prophets, he is the messiah, we believe he was a messenger of God and sent to his people to bring them back to the correct path and at the same time libirate them. He is mentioned throught the Quran and other Islamic sources, he is loved and rewspected by us and we do not see his followers as "Christians" but they were nothing more than earlier Muslims(those who submit to God). Eesa or Isa is the name of Jesus as given in the Quran and this is a popular and typican name for Muslim children. We tell his story as told by the Quran and Hadeeths to our children, we have books about him, etc. It is known to Christian leaders that Muslims are not anti-Christs but this is a common Christian tactic to demonize people and make everyone an enemy who does not hold their vampire dogmas.

This was done to the Arians, Paulicians, Ebionites, Nazarites, Nestorians, etc. Anyone who denies the divinity of Jesus is viewed as an enemy and was killed rightaway. It is only logic they will make Muslims be the demons too when they are not. It isn't Jesus we hate or reject but it is the religion which has nothing to do with him that we reject. We have nothing against Jesus and rejecting Jesus or any prophet as verified in the Quran is like rejecting Muhammad(saaws) and therefore, the person is not Muslim. This is not even an issue nor a question for Muslims but it is nothing more than Christian propaganda.
