...having watched hours of debates with Hitchens, Dawkins and Harris, Iīve begun to suspect that these guys have pulled their punches so as not to scare off the religious....so many points when they could have put the other side away, Hitchens and the rest have gone easy....my favorite bullshit is that science and religion are incompatible, that you can talk about one or the other but there is no linkage between them....and I say nonsense.

Religion IS science....it was the first attempt to answer what are really science questions...like what is the world made of...where did everything come from...how did life start...what is it all about...etc. People asked these wuestions and answered them too...by attributing everything to a god or gods...thatīs SCIENCE...itīs silly, childish, inadequate but itīs a first ATTEMPT...where did it all come from? Why, Mugwhump, of course...he farted and tress were made....bad science, but an attpemt to answer, to present an hypothesis.

Itīs just that a few minds werenīt satisfied so they looked for actual explanations...instead of Muwhump they suggested gravity...the religious would say Mugwhump made that too...and so it goes. But science can definitely take on religion...just like modern physics can have fun with Newton......weīre improving in our ability to find actual answers....something other than God did it....but itīs all part of the same...itīs all about answers...and better questions....religion is content with answers from 5000 years ago....bad science....the rest of us want better science.
