In which Stephen Fry disappoints......a little

I have the greatest admiration and respect for Stephen Fry...far more than even for the best in Hitchens. But he too fails to make a distinction between people's beliefs and their actions. Islam is as silly as every other religion ever invented...but that is not the reason I, at least, refuse to condemn Islam the same way I do Christianity.

Judaism is also as silly as the rest, but I would not have chosen Berlin in 1939 to start attacking Jews for their religion...mostly because others were doing it far more and far "better" than I ever could or would want to given the violence in Germany towards Jews at the time. I would not want to pile on, especially when it led to more than debates and discussion but death camps and rape and murder.

Islam has nothing to do with what Muslims are now doing, or were before the United States created Muslim Death Squads to do their dirty work for them.

Muslims, no less than Christians or Jews, cloak their violence with religion....but that is not the point where Muslims are concerned...the point is Muslims have been and are being murdered by Christians, directly, or by their goons...and it is a few decades of such attacks and murders, and not Muhammad, which have inspired or moved people who HAPPEN to be Muslim, to fight back.

I was sorry to hear Fry speak as if Islam is something to fear...it never was, at least not by people in the West....but, it turns out Christianity WAS something to fear, because we attacked THEM. It wouldn't have mattered if they had been Christian too( as being Christian didn't spare the Irish or the European nations in their world wars), or Buddhists or Atheists....it was our unjust illegal war against them and the starvation to death of their children plus the murder of Palestinians for decades which brought this on...to say, after they started fighting back, that it was their religion and not our ACTIONS which brought this on is both a lie and stupid...and I wish Fry hadn't played into that, or had at least made it clearer...he too was touting human reason and yet he failed to see that our actions and not their religion has been the cause of the violence we've seen...which is STILL is nowhere near the violence we have done to them..not even close.
