Seven years of occupation and war...seven years of roaming neighborhoods killing at will...seven years of doing to a country what not even the Nazis did... several thousand Americans dead and who knows how many millions of Iraqis...and one trillion dollars later....Baghdad has no electricity.

Why this war? Why Vietnam?...I mean really why, not the bullshit weīve been fed. They say for oil but thatīs only part of the answer...Saddam was selling oil and it was a lot cheaper without the war...economic notions about backing dollars with oil, but there isnīt enough oil to back all the dollars we keep printing....there isnīt anything worth the numbers we have floating out there.

Why Enron? Why the shoddy home loan practises...why giant ponzi scams...why cooked books, why no public health care, and all the tricks Wall Street and the Banks came up with to fleece people...why?

To make money.

It sounds ridiculously simplistic I know, but there are fewer and fewer ways for money-mad people to make money...capitalism may at one time have been about providing goods and services, but no longer...now itīs about making money any way you can and there is still no better way to make a lot of money really fast than war...not even the Church can make as much.

That trillion dollars of tax payer money didnīt go to Iraq...it was spent here among American busineses. In fact we stole Iraqīs money too. Billions and billions were paid out to security firms, to those who make soldierīs uniforms, their boots, bottled water...transportation, for building more weapons of mass destruction...American businesses grew rich from this war. When we hear, "the Iraq war cost this nations billions of dollars"..itīs true. But the money never left this country...the war was simply the excuse to raid the Treasury...a form of mass corporate welfare rip-offs. Same as the Vietnam War.

Itīs true that warfare is very costly and also true that the winners donīt return with gold and jewels and slaves any longer...but what is also true is that billions can be wrestled out of a sagging economy and many more billions borrowed if you can just convince people that this is all being done for THEIR safety...for patriotism and for Jesus. And itīs by far the best business ever invented.

Itīs very simple, really.
