Flash!

Last night at an Elks banquet in Compton, California, attendees were startled when a Mr. Joseph Danavi strode to the podium. John Tingle, master of ceremonies at the civic gala held to honor donors to a recent blood drive, appeared momentarily startled by the appearance of Mr. Danavi. After a brief discussion, Mr Danavi was introduced as a "promising" young student from Chicago who would be addressing the lodge members about what "Chaldo/Syrio/Asshos were doing in Illinois.

Speaking with members of the audience later it was clear that many had been deeply moved by Mr. Danavi's speech in which he praised himself. "I don't know what it had to do with our blood drive", said Gladys Frumlut, "but he certainly seemed like a polite young man and there are very few of those left." This reporter heard many in attendance utter the same comments regarding Mr Danavi's speech. Most were of the opinion that whatever Mr Danavi said, he was very polite when saying it. Others wondered what its relevance was but even they had to admit Mr. Danavi was nice.

Later Mr. Danavi joined in the festivities. Seated at the head table Mr. Danavi did ample justice to the spaghetti marinara Lucy Hampsters Ladies Auxilliary had prepared. Such was the impression made by Mr Danavi and his recounting of all he's done for Kurdistan that he was invited back next year.
