..the majority in any schoolroom are somwhere in the middle...with the really dumb and really bright at each end. What we have in politics now is the middling students who prefer to have as a teacher someone who knows as much about Algebra as they do....they don't feel comfortable wioth an "elitist" who knows conssiderably more and who might make them feel inadequate or uncomfortable in their ignorance...they also dread how much work lies aherad...so if you allow democracy in the classroom the majority will pick a teacher who doesn't challenge them at all....and that's the kind of leaders we want, democrat or republican we want leaders we "like"...ones we'd like to have a beer with, or grab a hotdog with....someone who makes us "comfortable"...who doesn't tower over us...someone easy to take etc.

And yet we all know that we wouldn't want a doctor or mechanic on those same terms...when it comes to plumbing or asphalt repair we want the person who knows WAY more than we do about the topic...but not where politics is concerned....and we get exactly what we deserve.

I hope McCain wins...and then dies and Palin becomes president...I want America to go hang itself if that's the only way to stop this rush to Fascism. It would be nice if we could lead ourselves out of this moral mess....but it took Hoover to get us to Roosevelt....go McCain!
