I think every time you hang up on a person or slam the door in their face or hit them, insult them or walk away from a discussion or point of disagreement you admit that you just lost...that you couldn't deal with the issue...hold your end up fairly and so you decide to run or take some unfair advantage. Banning and deleting is like that...so is calling someone's mother dirty names as a way of getting them to go away.

I don't deal in coersion...but the church does...and you're all church people of one sect or another. Whenever the argumnt proves too strong...or well constructed and you find yourselves unable to think (since in your religions you rarely do) of something relevant to say...you get flustered and then angry and look to attack people instead of dealing honestly with their ideas.

For instance....I said I knew of no time in which Kanna had said anything in Iraq about an Assyria or even an autonomous region...and I asked to see any evidence that he had. I'm perfectly willing to be wrong. I believe it wouldn't matter if he did say it in Iraq...that it still will never happen..because if your Christian saviors didn't give it to you...Kurds and Shi'aas won't. That seems so obvious on the surface of it that I can't imagine what rational basis there would be for denying it...still, I was open to hear opposing arguments.

I didn't get any argument...instead I got exactly the sort of intellectually sloppy or dishonest response that I was talking about...I got a post telling me that Kanna had said such a thing in ENGLAND. I have to assume that this response was posted by someone desperate to fool somebody...he certainly couldn't have thought to fool me...I know what I asked for..I asked for proof of such a thing in IRAQ...I already addmitted that Kanna says these things outside Iraq...in fact, that was the main thrust of my post...and the reply backed me up all the way. If there WAS any such proof I'm sure ten people would have rushed to post it...but there isn't so I get called a LIAR! Go figure.

You have to distinguish between trying to convince people and trying to challenge them to think for themselves...and hopefully be honest and thorough...but at least QUESTION. if your Jesus hadn't questioned there would be no religion in his name...if cannibals hadn't once questioned their beliefs we'd still be eating each other...raw.

I'm not committed to one tribe or one faction or one region...or one sect...or one church...or one political group...or bingo hall...or city over another. I'm interested in ALL Assyrian people everywhere...and I'm not going to promote or support one group at the expense of all the others.

One thing is clear...the Assyrians in Iraq DON'T want an autonomous region...not the way all of you OUTSIDE are yelling for it. They don't want to do or say ANYTHING that's going to lead to controversy and turmoil or focus hostile attention for them IN IRAQ...they have enough to deal with already. For all of you outside Iraq...in England or Chicago or Sydney this is all a grand and glorious game...you PLAY at nation building and oompta...because it really doesn't matter WHAT you say or do...no one in Iraq is going to punish YOU for your actions...but they MIGHT take it out on the ones they can get their hands on.

Your best chance was that the attacking Christians, with Genghis Bush at the lead, would have "given" you an Assyria by force of arms...I still say that would have set everyone there up for slaughter...but since Bush didn't do it, let's not argue what might have been...since that didn't happen...the Assyrians of Iraq are right back where they started from, though a lot worse off and with a lot fewer people....they';re back to being dependant on the good graces of Muslims, Kurds and "Arabs"...though Iraqis aren't Arabs...but never mind...point is they can get nothing and do nothing these others won't LET them do...I understand its a bitter pill to swollow...but only because you had "faith" in this silly notion to begin with. Thinking that the United States is in the business of SAVING people is absurd...you have to really be dense or terminally stuffed with "hope" to think such a thing ...IF you know anything about American history. But you guys don't want to know what's in a dictionary...why would you care what's in a history book? But HAD you known..or listened and THOUGHT a little...you would have spared yourselves your "beliefs" at the beginning and wouldn't be so desperate to believe NOW...now when any fool can see what they were up to all along and where things are headed...but you STILL don't want to think!!! And you'll make those poor people suffer even MORE!!!.

And lets not argue about what MIGHT be. There is such a thing as the probable...but there is also the "possible". It is POSSIBLE that a miracle will happen tomorrow and everyone will apologize and give you Assyria...but it's very UNlikely...it isn't probable...and this is where religion has alwas screwed you up....Christiaity promises you a Messiah and forgives you no matter how many times you screw up badly...that isn't conducive to right-behavior on earth...because UNTIL he comes...you're lost...which is exactly where you are...lost.

And when you are lost, you don't question how you got that way...what you did wrong and what YOU can do about it the next time...no, you say you will continue to have FAITH...forEVER...waiting on that Messiah to come and make things right.

Thinking like this or, rather, TRAINED to act like this...you have no choice but to be "faithful" to the religion that taught you this way of getting on in the world..and that's why people here are STILL refusing to examine the road by which we got here and instead are proudly proclaiming their FAITH in the rightness of their assumptions...even though those assumpions have been dahsed into pieces time and again.

The welfare of the greatest number of Assyrian children is not served by further agitating for an Assyria...it will be much better served if we make some meaningful presence and expression of our heritage in all the countries of the world we inhabit...because we're pinning our hopes on where we CAN'T win and HAVEN'T won..while neglected all we could do for all our children in the places we CAN do something..and get a lot of help doing it...instead of roadblocks and pitfalls...mostly of our own doing.
