The same held true for the problems Nestorians had with their Muslim neighbors, as Prof Jospeh explains in his book...it was the imperial expansion of the Christian Russian armies into Turkish lands that started this in serious with our Nestorians siding with the Christian invaders and then suffering the consequences...some things never change.
