I used to have this black T-shirt which had a picture of a band of armed American Indians on its front and above it said: HOMELAND SECURITY: Fighting Terrorism Since 1492. I gave it to a real Indian at a bar while telling him 'my people (Assyrians) are the Indians of the Mid-East' - I was really drunk and it was a few years back before I met Pancho and learned about Dr. Joseph. You know the funny thing is (and I've told Jeffrey this), when I first found this forum I too thought that Pancho was a Qurd, and I thought you were half Qurdi or Arab 'cause I never thought an Assyrian would EVER become Muslim based on my experience in the community and how I was perceived because of my background. Of course, the more I read I realised that I finally met some real, inquisitive and open-minded brothers. I did feel a bit shocked and depressed when I digested what you guys where talking about regarding Dr. Joseph's book. Then I read the first three chapters of his book and felt like an adult who was just told that he had been adopted. So I can understand Ashur thinking that you're Qurdi and wanting to call you so he can breath in Sureth with you. --------------------- |
