Prophet Muhammad(saaws) further asked "how can one beat his wife the way one beats the wind out of a camel by day and then go in to her by night as a wife". So this does not mean that everytime the Lakers lose a basketball game he can beat his wife or abuse her. It is only a last resort when truly the wife is being totally disobedient and "disobedient doesen't mean for what a man desires but for what Islam says. Keep in mind that Islam also gives women the right to divorce. so this is not implied to abuse or beat women to death.
