That is very interesting and the same thing the historian stated in the book I am reading. I recently came across another book and it is about the enviornment in which Jesus would have lived under Roman occupation. There is a reason why a stupid and naive Christian is willing to try to compare his version of Jesus with Muhammad. The Christian on average knows nothing of the historical time period of Jesus and there is no way of finding out because the New Testament is clearly fictional and silent about the atrocities of the time period. In order to realize how absurd Christianity and their New Testament is, one definitely must study the history of that time period. There are numerous writings and eye witness account of historians such as Josephus who are more reliable than the New Testament and written before it. What the historians and eye witnesses tell us about the time period before, during and after the time of Jesus is that it was a brutal time period.

Palestine was under a brutal Roman occupation. The Jews were divided and there was a party which were anti-occupation and it was this group that was persecuted, crucified by the thousands, their women gang raped, over taxed and much more. There is no mention of any of the atrocities in the New Testament. In one year alone while Jesus would have been a teenager, 4,000 Jews were crucified for not paying taxes. Christians have a habit to proudly display their crosses around their necks but have little or no knowledge of what the heck crucifixion was and who it was reserved for. They have a theory that crucifixion was a one time event only reserved for Jesus, but nothing is further from the truth. Jews were crucified by the thousands and not only men but women, children, and elders. It was an ugly time period and those Jews who were in any way against the occupation met their death on the cross.

If the Christian wants to be this ridiculous to believe the crap in his New Testament and wants to believe that it was a peaceful time oeriod with Jesus walking around with birds singing by his side nd giving hour long sermons about "love your enemy" "pay your taxes" "faith os only in the heart" and the rest of the absurd things, they can do so but I am not fooled by it. It was an ugly time period, the Mosaic Jews were suffering and historians of the time period tells us that James(Yacoub) who was the leader of the Jesus movement also belonged to the Jews who were anti-occupation.

Josephus further tells us that they "they cherished death if it came with honor more than life without end". They were fighters, they rebelled against the Romans and they killed other Jews who sided with the Romans. There were many Jews who had compromised their religion and people because they were benefiting from the Roman occupation. They were exempt from taxes, they had Roman citizenship, they could freely travel the empire and do business and they were gettting rich. The high priests and leaders were appointed by the Romans to control the rest. The rest of the Jews would naturally be pissed off and rise up against them. It was the oppressed Jews who were waiting for the Messiah and were ready to have the Romans out and establish the law of God(Torah) as the rule of the land. This was a problem for Romans and the compromising Jews.

If Jesus was really preaching the absurd things in the New Testament, the Romans and compromosing Jews would have loved it. They would love a Messiah that is preaching peace, tolerance and "pay your taxes". It would save them a lot of work and they wouldn't have to crucify so much. In fact, Jesus would have been given mansions to live in if he was telling his followers to be passive and cooperate. But this is not the reality. He was anti occupation and it was Jews who were guilty of sedition that were crucified. I am not saying Jesus picked up swords and fought but there is no doubt he was a danger to the Romans and there is a reason why they would want to crucify him and the reason is not as the stupid Christians like to believe that Jesus was claiming "I am God" and they wanted to kill him. If he had made such absurd claims, the Jews would have simply laughed at him and would have viewed him as a harmless lunatic. The only people that would have been pissed at him would be the oppressed Jews if he were preaching the things in the New Testament, but these Jews would not be in position to crucify him because they were themselves oppressed and Romans did not take orders from them.

No doubt they would have tried to kill him for claiming to be God but they would simply stone him or chop his head off as they did with the rest of the Jews whom they opposed. It was an ugly time period and the reason the naive Christian can sit there and try to make Muhammad seem violent while Jesus being the total prince of peace is because Christians follow blind faith and know nothing about Jesus except what the church tells them. No wonder they are this absurd. They actually believe Jesus came to die for their crimes and filthiness. They actually believe he was passive and on the side of the Romans yet his followers and other Jews fought and were martyred for the sake of their religion. No doubt thay wanted to kill him for sedition and there is no doubt he was a danger. I of course know what really went to on but I am not going to use Islamic sources since I will be accused of biased. So I will refute Christians by showing how absurd they really are and how their Jesus conflicts with history and does not fit in the enviornment.

The new testament was no doubt written much after Jesus and it was not written for an eye witness audience but for a foreign, naive and mostly western pagan audience. Any eye witness of Palestine at the time would have laughed at the New Testament for displaying the area as peaceful when it was the opposite. So Christians should know the truth about their man god before they try to make clowns of themselves.
