honestly, I don't even think such stories took place. Why would anyone be willing to convert because of a few coins yet get their children killed at sword point? It don't make any sense just as the rest of their allegations. They had to make something up and it was embarrassing for them to lose their people to another religion they hate. Today it's no different either. The accuse Islam of being abusive toward women but statistics show that in many places females outnumber men 5 to 1 in converting. When asked about that, their "experts" answer by telling us that the women are converting to marry a good husband, but the same people just said that it was abusive. None of their answers are realistic and easily refutable.

I trust John Joseph not because of what he says but because he is qualified in this field, he is free of prejudices and his work is reliable. A historian has to be honest no matter what he/she may think personally, or else they won't be reliable. The problem with these nationalists is that they think when someone tells how it is that he is being a traitor but that is not how historians work. The people they quote for their opinions are all rejected by actual professionals in that field. They argue with opinions and we support our views with facts and they tell us "we each have our own opinions", but it isn't our opinion what we say about them.

It used to boil my blood reading these stories about how supposedly people were killed and tortured because of their love for Jesus but it turns out that Muslims gave all Christians equal recognition and freedom while they were declared officially "heretics" by Rome. Do these people have any idea what happen to other heretics? There were many Christian sects running around and all of them believed they were the "true" Christians and it was thanks to Constantine and other Christian emperors that they are no longer around. But even today Christians are at it still yet they are telling us about Islam. I suggest for them to read the book titled, "lost Christianities" by the famous Dr. Bart Ehrman or "when Jesus became God" by Dr Richard Rubenstein.

After reading these books and others, I came to realize why these Christians are so obsessed with the "sword theory" against Islam. I believed all my life that Muslims really hated Jesus and spread their religion by faith until I stepped out of my circle and decided to investigate for myself. Unfortunately, one is called a "traitor" for doing so and for being honest, yet we are told that a Christian is supposed to be honest and faithful even when under pressure.
