...no it didn't help at all...though I was sent to a day-boarding school run by the British, with American students as well...so everything was in English....didn't help in Kuwait though where we were sent to an all-Arab school because our father wanted us to know what growing up in the MidEast would be like...being very light-haired and skinned also was a disadvantage and even having come from the United States was held against us because it wasn't all that different from the hated Brits...our experiences in Arab schools were enlightening and also really scary...beaten several times, attacked by teachers as well who made no allowance for the fact that I understood not a word of their language....and so on and so forth.
