My immediate reactiion was to tie this in with the rise of white hate groups in the US, Europe and Russia. Since 2001 these groups have grown by 54% in the US since the authorities have focused more on Mid-Easterners, and less on the far-Right hate mongers. And with Obama becoming president, there've more young whites joining these groups for three reasons: a Black president (whom they consider a "half-breed", which is even worse in their eyes because it means a white woman slept with a Black man), the failing economy and the immigration issue. Like any gang, initiation consists of murdering someone - anyone - who represents the "other". On the other hand, Pancho makes a great point and I always trust his instincts and his line of reasoning. --------------------- |
