Very well said because my family members achieved much as Christians and Assyrians without having to cheat, lie or blame Arabs. In fact, even my mother who is very prejudice even is honest enough at times to speak up against the many lies that are invented by people like Jumblat. It's a good excuse to make to justify their behavior. It's not the fault of the Arabs, Turks or anyone that these so called Assyrians were willing to risk their knecks in the front lines of western armies and jeopordize their good lives in the Ottoman region. They made the choice and they have to live with it. It's their own fault that they are willing to cause crimes against the governments in the countries they live in and then get prosecuted and or punished for sedition. They use to complain about Saddam and say if only Saddam was not there and Iraq were a democracy they could achieve their goal which has only been in existense for about a 100 years. Well now Saddam is gone and their next problem or excuse are the "Kurds". They hope to use any chance they get to prove that they are persecuted by Kurds in North Iraq but their lies shatter when cases of Kurds being targets of the same type are recorded and it proves that they are not suffering anything unusual. After all, what would be the excuse of the many Kurds who have been victims at the hands of thugs, and thieves? Bad apples exist in all communities and the Christians in Kurdistan are not special targets of anything.

If an Assyrian is arrested by Kurdish police, they cry "see persecution" instead of saying "prosecution" or "justice". They always look for the same excuses and never like to take blame or be honest with themselves, yet they are always preaching about "honesty" as Christians. Perhabs it's not easy to be honest with one's self and that is their problem. Whenever an Assyrian is killed, they try to tie religion into it even when it had clearly nothing to do with it. I have relatives who still claim their brother was killed by Muslims and they pretend that it was a religious thing but they try to ignore that the individual was killed for betraying KDP for the Baath party, but that part is ignored and all we hear is "Assyrian Christian killed by Kurdish Muslims". I still find it funny when read quotes from books written by Fred Aprim where he states that in 1915 "the Muslim Turks carried out a "Jihad" in the name of "Allah" against the Assyrian Christians". The funny and absurd thing is that this clown only heard the word "jihad" on cnn and decided to use it in his advantage, but as always the moron ignored or purpousfully forgot that the Turkish government of 1915 was not Islamic at all but purely Turkish nationalistic.

First, they were called "Young Turks" and they came to power before 1915. It was this same government which ended the Islamic Government in Turkey and created a new constitution. On one hand, they never claimed to be Muslims but were proud Turks. On the other hand, even if they did view themselves Muslims regardless of the fact that they pretty much banned Islam from Turkey, closed down all Islamic schools, most major mosques and arrested/executed many Muslims for simply refusing to change, it still don't really mean anything because they were not killing anyone for being Christian but it was fore security reasons. The Nestorians and Syriac Christians of Hakkarri decided to help the Russians and Armenians and the Turks defended themselves. The Turks could have been more brutal by murdering women and children like the Germans did to the Jews but they didn't do that. It was a war which the Assyrians had waged against Turkey along with their Armenian and Russian partners so they payed the price.

Having mentioned the above it's still funny to see morons like Fred or Jumbo make their absurd claims and even twist history. They positive and good thing is that they are not really historians, their books are printed in basements and the best is that no one reads them except the 6 or 8 people in their circle. Excuses is all they'll ever do and they'll never blame themselves for their screw ups. They will continue with their so called "Assyrian Nation" in which one has to be a racist, bigot, believe that the ancient Assyrians were the first humans, and everyone copied from them. Furthermore, the whole world is jealous of them and affraid of them uniting as one "people". One can not be friends with Muslims or have differen't views, beliefs or opinions. It has to be black or white. One is either Assyrian Christian or the enemy. Such "Assyrian Nation" is already going down the drain and it will never achieve anything in this world.

Hey Dr Jumblat, I am sorry for stealing your words "drain" and I hope you will not sue me for that, but I think you are a merciful Christian with love in your heart for your enemies and you are willing to forgive and not take a poor Muslim to court for stealing your words.
