There is obviously a clear difference between what Muslims today do and what Muhammad and early Muslims did. The Qur'an says one thing and Muslims do another. I must admit that it is hard to just sit there and take insults with a smile and it takes a strong person to do that. It was hard for me in my days and I remember I would get angry and start shaking and would just think how anyone could be so ignorant and say such horrible things about the man I loved more than myself. But then I realized he took far worse abuse from his own tribe and people and he didn't go after them or retaliated and he never had one person killed for apostasy. It is actually ridiculous and a mockery to kill someone because they no longer believe. How can you force someone to stay and why would any god want such person? This is not from Muhammad but from other people who came later and they're not doing the right thing. Unfortunately, only the ignorant and radical get media attention while other popular figures get no media times. I don't like the terms and labels such as moderates, reformed, radical etc. I don't think any Muslim calls himself that. Muslims should do a better job of handling this and the west should also educate itself. At least know your enemy. Christian ignorance had always baffled me.

At least Muslim debaters and students of contemporary religion know about Christianity and other religions. Ahmed deedat knew the bible more than the Qur'an and took it to Christians. They were so sick of him and would ask "why does he do this" but they would ignore how they got him into this and made him learn. It came from Christian missionaries attacking him, taking advantage of his kindness and teenage ignorance. He armed himself with knowledge, studied their religion and attacked them.
