We forgot our history and culture for centuries and believed the bible instead. So keep that in mind when you tell us that everything started with Assyrians. It may have, but we forgot it long ago.

Just like they had even forgotten the "A" supposed to be infront of "suraye" so it would say "Asuraye" rather than "Suraye".

>Of course the Hebrews took from other civilizations, but apparently they valued what they stole more than we who created it. Would it have been so hard for Assyrians to have kept one book all those years, as the Jews kept their bible, where we recorded our own ancient history, heroes, legends, myths, wars, prophets, as they did and as they taught US all about us from them?

>Every civilization back then had laws, taught its young to honor parents, condemned theft and adultery and urged people to be law abiding and decent in their private lives. The, Egyptians, Babylonians, Hittites and Assyrians taught these things and even they took from earlier cultures. Nothing was new back then or original to anybody….except for one thing; the Messiah. Show us anywhere in Assyrian history where people longed for a Savior. The Hebrews desperately needed “heavenly hosts” and a fantastic general….the Assyrians had those things. Their King David was a thief, adulterer, traitor. Not a brick of Solomon’s Temple has ever been found so what kind of “empire” did he have?

Yes all those good things were around before and before and even before. As far as the "Messiah" is concerned, it is not only something exclusively to the Hebrew custom but it is completely differen't from the Christian view which is a miconception. A messiah in the Hebrew culture was nothing more than someone "annointed" or "picked to do a job". It has nothing to do with taking away "sin" "required blood sacrifice" in order to be "saved" and all the other nonsense. There were many Messiahs which existed among the Israelites and some were prophets, priests, and kings. They were simply individuals who would libirate the Israelites and defend them. Not sprititually, not by preaching "give unto Ceasar what is Ceasr and to God what is God's", but rather a Messiah is a libiritor just like Juda Maccabe for example. These individuals would defeat the occupyers of Judea and preserve their "way of life" as given to them by God. That is why it is not known to Assyrians, Egyptians, etc because it is a Hewbrew thing and Chrristians have got it misunderstood. Jews been reading the Old Teastament much longer than Christians and they never believed in "blood sacrifice" being the "way for salvation" but it was always clear that it was through obedience, sincerity and worshipping the Creator alone.

>The Old Testament is a collection of nonsense the world could well do without. Our tragedy is that we try to govern our lives and relationships according to the precepts of half-savages of 3000 years ago….except we have nuclear weapons now to REALLY smite ourselves with. The sooner we dump ALL that crap, including the New Testament, the sooner we can save this planet.

That is exactly the point of it and it really is not meant to all of mankind but it was for the Israelites alone. The "Torah" which Christians swear up and down that it is the current "Old Testament" was only given to the "Israelites" and it simply means "The Law". Assyrians and other nations, on the other hand, had their own system and beliefs. It's not the fault of the Hewbrews that Assyrians chose to cast aside their "way" and "culture" and become "Christians", speak "Aramaic" and forget "Akkadian" and become "Syriac" rather than "Assyrian". They lost everything for this and bragging about what the ancients did does little or no good because it was western archeologists that discovered these things and dug them up regardless of whether Hebrews copied from Assyrians or not. As for saving the planet, this can be done without having to destroy "Christianity" but they have to understand that people will not sit back and just allow them to do to others as they wish. People always had beliefs, religions, views, ways, cultures, etc. That is human nature but it becomes a problem when you have a group that beliefs in "spreading Gospels" at any cost possible; whether it be through sanctions on other nations which gives an excuse for their "soldiers of Christ" to come in an go to work, through warfare, pressure, forced conversions, etc. It is unacceptable and that is what's destroying people. When they learn to respect others, swallow their arrogance and just be honest rather being snakes, people will choose for themselves where the "truth" lies. But we know what the results would be if they would just be like others rather than having to attack, slander and conspire other beliefs.

>the hell with heaven…I want earth.

By the way, I understand that you're message was intended to someone else but I liked the points you mentioned and I thought I might add something. Peace be with you.
