Who we are? We are just like others in the region and that is descendants of the ancients Assyrians, Babylonians, Arameans, Chaldeans and the list goes on and on. None of the people back then were pure 100% of anything and neither is anyone today, and I think you agree that no one is pure 100% period. The issue is not what name we choose to call ourselves. I think we are all free to use whatever label we feel like and there is nothing wrong with calling yourself "Assyrian" or whatever else one wishes because it really majes no difference.

At outset, I agree that there is no nation to be pure, and so that it applies to us, but no matter what, these questions are not directed to the Arabs who claim from the Atlantic ocean up to the Persian Gulf or to the Turks, Persians, Armenans and Q....S.
The point why these people - ZIONISM CREATION - are after the Assyrian people, while these Jewish Zionists are European BUSTARDS , yes none of them could trace his/her ancestors to Israel/Palestine , they are scattered all over the world for more than 1200 years.

Furthermore, YES , I agree that nobody is pure, but that DOESN'T mean that people of GEOGRAPHICAL ASSYRIA don't have representation of our ancient Assyrians, if Arabs are Arabs why not us?

I think you are aware of the answer to this question yourself. You pretty much admitted that it was the Brits who named us "Assyrians" but you insist that there was nothing wrong with this act and I find that interesting so let's take that for a moment. Why would the Brits need to name us if we were what we are? why weren't those Syriac Nestorians aware of their past, history and culture? Why is the knowledge and everything these guys today know derived from the works of western archeologists? Were they not able to keep alive at least some their history whether orally or in writings?

REPLY >>>

Yes, I said that in order to press on my point thoroughly, in the past you know well that I refute that and the English if they call us Assyrians, as answered this before, they didn't call us that from void, but because that name fits us HISTORICALLY, ETHNICALLY and GEOGRAPHICALLY.
Many Britons were acquainted with our Christian writers to name Malpana Gewarges Warda of Arbel, Mar Narsai, Mar Adai and Mar Abdisho of Soba these people some of them from the 5th century and others from 13 century all of them were proud Assyrians , and Assyrianism was not absent fro their writings.
And if there is no Assyrians , how come Bishops were named for instance Bishop of Athur - Yesho3 Dad bishop of Assyria and so forth.....

Our people, tried to preserve their books and knowledge, but you must remember these people lived a harsh life that was constance harassment by the neighbors who were after us stealing and taken booties everything we possess , even our books the Q.....s and others took themand destroy them, remember THOSE DAYS we never have PRINTING PROCESS that to print a lot of books, people who write a book he will do one an may two , they were in a very scarce, the bottom line you should imagine what kind life they live under the yoke of not occupiers only, but under those who hate us becuase what we are and what belief we possess.

The other point, our people transaction from the cuneiform writing to the Alphabet writing , that changed and the Islamic invasion , the other people persecution - Romans, Turks and Persians - all these people contributed to make our people illiterate , because no schools and people were always on the run all these were factors that we were cut from our ancestors , plus the Christian religion look at our ancestries as atheists.

Assyrian Muslim again:

Nevertheless, let's agree that they always were truly direct descendants of the ancient Assyrians. This creates another problem. (A) If they were Assyrians all along and knew it, they must have lost interests in being Assyrians and they gave up on it. (B) Or they simply forgot everything and knew nothing about the ancients that others didn't know but that would be kind of strange wouldn't you agree? (C) They were never "direct descendants of the ancient Assyrians" as they like to call it today but they are exactly what many say they are and that is that they adopted this label recently to achieve certain agendas that weren't possible as being just "Christians" or "Nestorians".

Kindly, go to my answer above where I shed a light on that point.

Assyrian Muslim again:

On the one hand, if you have such hard time understanding how it is possible for someone to falsely name some one something, all you need to do is look at our Chaldean brothers whom you yourself agree that they received this name from the Catholic church while having no connections with the ancient Chaldeans. Therefore, the same thing could have been done to us with the British. It is well known today that these modern Assyrians were not using this name ever a 150 years ago nor did they know anything of the ancients and they never even had any desires for an "Assyria" or was there any "Assyrian pride" and "nationalism".

REPLY >>>

I did reply this point too, but our situation is not like that of the Chaldaean rite, the Chaldean Rites can't bring somebody who claim that he is a Chaldean from 600 years ago, WHILE as I stated in our case there is, and the Chaldaeans if they are true in that, let them point to one village of two houses in Basra area that belong to the Chaldaeans , but in our case I will point to you many villages and people who lived in Assyria always.

Assyrian Muslim again:

So calling ourselves Assyrians is not a problem. Believing that we are their descendants is not a problem either but the silly demands which do not work in this world is the issue. Claiming a label in order to accomplish another agenda is a problem and that is the real issue here. This "Assyrianism" just began recently and it has been used to accomplish dirty agendas. It hasn't worked all along and no people or community have ever received special treatment, independence or get spoiled by claiming to be indigenous or or direct descendants of whatever.

REPLY >>>

In any event, you should remember the notion of NATIONALISM is a new phenomenon, because in the Middle East and even else where people's religion was more strong to be affiliated with.
The NEW CONCEPT of Nationalism as you started less than two hundred years ago from France/ Europe and spread all over the world.
In the last two hundred years and less THERE WAS NO ARAB NATIONALISM, to your surprise the Awaken Arab Nationalism was creation and efforts of the Christian thinkers , they did that to SAFEGUARD their position among the Arabs , so in that way will be accepted, because these people REVIVED the ARABIC language which on the bring of death , in doing that and claiming to be also Arabs they did earn the Arabs respect, so it was not our case only even the Arabs with their millions were sometimes worst than us.

Assyrian Muslim again:

I hope you understand my position and what I am trying to say here. Take care and I hope you don't feel offended nor see this as an attack against you or modern "Assyrian Nation". I am just being logical and looking at it honestly.

REPLY >>>

Yes, I do understand, but one thing , please don't be affected by that fake professor who try to tarnish our name and existence and I am not offended but delighted with your response and GOD bless.
