My late uncle, Lazar "Salamasi" - a nickname given to him by proud Gangachnai Malik family - was a sculptor, architect, painter - who was referred to by one of my former lovers (a smalltown American girl), as a "Renaissance Man", used to tell me that "Takht'ah Jamshid" (Persepolis) was engineered and built - along with other Persian monuments - by Assyrians, who after the fall of the empire (612 B.C.E), were imported into Cyrus' Persian Empire, where they were the driving force behind much of what the ancient Persians (and modern Iranians) claim as their cultural achievements.
