The Despicable
Traitors amongst us …

“Treason is like diamonds; there is nothing to be made by the small trader” - Douglas Jerrold

Peoples suffering within the regime of a state is measured by the level of democracy, but Iraq has followed the law of the jungle throughout its history from inception, and since democracy is the rule of majority, then its democracy has always been a disaster for its minorities, specially when 79% of the Iraqi people vote to Islamize and Kurdify Iraq’s indigenous groups through a degenerate Kurdo-Islamic text called “constitution”, here the elimination of the indigenous factions will be legitimized where “Power” becomes the key to these groups’ safety, and this power can only come by force through the imposition of a doctrine which ensures the future survival of a small group at any cost.

As the Assyrian nationality is still oppressed and marginalized due to the lack of a "national ideological path", which in turn is due to the lack of an “Ideology” in the programs of the so-called "Assyrian organizations" (political parties, movements and alliances). Thus, we see that the political programs of the majority of these organizations are the most trivial, hence chaos continues to grow within the Assyrian society, like the pampered clergy, the emergence of "ministrized" puppets in the Kurdish Occupation government, or the Assyrian puppets pawned to Baghdad’s multi-trends (the direction of Najaf - Qom, or Barzan - Tel Aviv, or Mosul - Mecca) for the sake of their own personal interests or to secure jobs and allocations for their jobless relatives, just like all other Iraqi politicians.

Since such events rarely occur in the lives of nations which respect themselves, the indicators of the factors which would ensure the continuation of the Assyrian national existence (culture, geography) declined rapidly specially following the exaggeration of kissing up to the clergy, inviting them to political conferences and debating them on national political issues, then glorifying them so that later on they would become a strong excuse for the politicians’ failure. Subsequently, the clergy would be blamed for interfering in politics, even though those politicians themselves did not intervene in politics when it was their duty to do so. The Assyrian representation in Iraq faced several tests, we will not say that it failed these tests since it didn’t participate in any of them in the first place, and the so-called "achievements of democracy" following the fall of the former Iraqi regime can be summed up in persecuting the Assyrians under the sight and hearing of the Kurdo-Islamic government, while the individual, whom the Assyrian nation got afflicted with, that is the “representative of Christians” stood and is still a by stander watching his nation being chased away from its land using shameful practices which can be summarized as follows:

• Murdering Assyrians in Mosul, Baghdad and other areas at the hands of degenerative Islamic groups.
• The destruction of churches and attacks on the Assyrian clergy (Chaldeans, Syrians and Church of the East) and the slaughtering of many of them.
• Murdering Assyrians in Mosul and Nohadra (Kurdified to "Dohuk") and Arbil, and the continuous evacuation of Assyrians from Occupied Assyria by the Kurds and migration organizations.
• The identity of the culprits in these crimes is indisputable, however, logically the people elect representatives to have a voice in official arenas, but the Assyrian people is one of the peoples whose representatives have a unique distinction and that is being mute in regards to the fate and identity of the nation, while they rush when it comes to seats, elections and to secure employment for their relatives. Thus, the hierarchy of responsibilities (dishonor roll) in oppressing the Assyrians are as follows:

The first responsible for these crimes is the representative "elected by the people", because the Assyrian people elected him to defend them but he covers up all terrorist acts against the Assyrians, whether committed by the Kurdish intruders or the degenerative Islamist currents, and he disregarded or perhaps he’s even a "collaborator" as is proved by his shameful political history, which established the underdevelopment in the modern Assyrian history. The least we can say, for example, is that the "savior" who is currently elected has contributed to the smothering of terrorist acts against the Assyrians in Mosul on October 2008, as the file was closed by the same parliament which he is part of, without trying the perpetrators, while he didn’t issue any statement asking for a follow-up on the case.

The responsible in the second place is Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, who bargained on the policy of Islamization and Kurdification mocking the importance of the Assyrians as a genuine component in the so-called "Iraq’s fabric" and being the prime responsible for national security, he took advantage in the absence of Assyrian representation in Parliament (although there is a "representative"). The words of Osama al-Nujaifi, deputy from Mosul, were clear in this matter regarding al-Maliki’s knowledge of the crimes perpetrators, however, the latter didn’t dare to challenge al-Nujaifi’s “allegations” as he called them, and the only thing that al-Maliki did was issuing a poorly put statement, which made him lose his credibility as a Prime Minister, specially that al-Nujaifi isn’t so reckless to propagate lies and put himself in an un necessary predicament, but despite all, al-Nujaifi continues to express his opinion on different occasions.

The responsible in the third place for these crimes is the perpetrator Massoud Barzani and these crimes took place under the sight and hearing of Mosul’s residents with their different ethnicities and sects, even the Kurds who don’t dare to speak up until they leave Iraq. At this level the perpetrators are also the kurdist Assyrian MP Abdul Ahad Afram, Nimrod Beito and George Mansour who are ministers in the Kurdish Occupation government and who have become the bugles for the Kurdish occupation in a blatant manner which is even disgusting the Kurds themselves, we also do not forget to grant “the rank of dishonor” in the third degree to the newest Kurdish mouthpiece, the Ankawa council known as the [“public” Chaldean Assyrian Syrian] council run by new faces as a front but by Nechervan Barzani behind the scenes.

In this chaos, the demands of the Assyrian people are limited to three proposals:

• Nechervan Barzani’s council: Kurdifying the remainder of the Assyrian Triangle, and annexing the so-called "plain of Nineveh," to the Kurdish Occupation under the banner of "self - rule for our people", a strong proposal backed by the Kurds who are supporting it financially, providing funds for delegates to travel, and the creation of a Kurdish satellite channel broadcasting in the Assyrian language under the name of "Ishtar TV".

• Assyrian Democratic Movement: Throwing dust in the eyes under the banner of "self- administration", which was not understood even by those who invented it and the idea hasn’t been introduced any where formally except during fund raising parties in Diaspora. This idea is supported by those who don’t even know how to applaud.

• Assyrian General Conference (AGC): “Assyria Region” equally with others according to the recognized federalism in the Iraqi constitution, and that all confiscated lands in all parts of Iraq be returned regardless of the “confiscator”. This is the “wish” of every Assyrian and it’s supported by all but very timidly. This proposition is the weakest today due to many internal and external factors, the most important being the inferiority complex felt by the Assyrians whereby the majority of the Assyrian nation feel incapacitated vis a vis realizing “equality with others”, hence as this proposition remains at the level of “wishing”, is at one hand a clear indication on the weakness of the Assyrian national movement, and that the “Law of Jungle” is a reality in Iraq.

Prior to the Kurdo-Islamic parliamentary elections in 2005, we wrote an article which began with a saying for the late U.S. President Abraham Lincoln: "Elections belong to the people. It is their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters". Indeed, the Assyrian people turned their behinds to the fire of the Assyrian Democratic Movement electing it while neglecting its negative facets, and here are the Assyrian people today sitting on their blisters represented in the demand “self administration”, since they don’t have any other choice but that of “living in safety” even if that came at the expense of their lands’ identity, and to the advantage of those who are benefitting of the calamities befalling the Assyrians, those who are sponsoring the Kurdish project in Kurdifying the so-called “Nineveh Plain” under the banner “self governing for our people”. Hence, the latest “garbage collecting governorate elections” were the best proof on the popularity of this malicious project.

The "Assyria Region” is considered by some as "an unrealistic dream", those opposing this project base their opinion on the demographic situation, since the population in the Assyrian triangle (between the Tigris and the Great Zab) is relatively small, particularly in Nohadra (Kurdified to "Dohuk") but they forget that those who are administering their political projects are the ones who forced the Assyrians to flee and created this bitter reality, even though rights have nothing to do with numbers. This is how countries were established in the Middle East following WWI, where we saw tribes un able to differentiate between moth and licorice turn into States, Emirates and Kingdoms, while the Assyrian national rights being discussed today don’t go beyond the level of “equality” which in turn is only within the most basic rights of citizenship.

In this context, the idea is best expressed in the French Declaration of Rights, published in 1795, which says: “Every people are independent and sovereign, regardless of their numbers, or the area of land they occupy, and this sovereignty is not negotiable".

Due to the Assyrian General Conference’s (AGC) growing movement, meetings and strengthening its relationships with all the Iraqi patriotic factions and its leading role in conveying a true Assyrian voice, hence, the “Assyria Region” proposal is facing today a cute opposition, particularly by some brethren who are new to the nationalist domain, or some disappointed ex-Baathists and ex-communists whose names are known both in and outside their towns, those are opposing every project which can guarantee the future of their children and grand-children. Each one of them writes daily few boring jokes which are published by some websites known for their particular political inclination, such sites are appropriate for those who are trying to impose themselves as “writers” or “intellectuals” while they are still turning in the cradle of writing and thinking following years of raising the slogans of Proletariat or Arabism.

Today, we see all those have turned to nationalism but in a twisted manner, since for them Chaldean Catholicism means an ethnicity, even though the Chaldean name isn’t suitable to even be a Church name because the word “Chaldean” means “fortune teller” (late Chaldean Bishop Yacoub Augin Manna, Chaldean – Arabic dictionary). Fortune telling contradicts with the Christian faith, thus it is not appropriate to say that Patriarch Delly is the “fortune tellers Patriarch”. Our apologies to the Catholic brethren, but they should carefully study their proposals before presenting them.

In order not to credit those types with more than they deserve, we will attribute all the defeat, failure and silly proposals of this faction of Assyrians to their lack of nationalistic upbringing, the school of belief in nationalism is a party, organization or movement, but how will that happen with Assyrians when these institutions are themselves in need of ideological education ?

Matters have reached to a degree that political institutions humiliate themselves and comply with the orders of the clergy to the extent that an Assyrian would think at first glance that the Assyrian Democratic Movement is headed by Patriarch Delly, the Assyrian Universal Alliance headed by Patriarch Dinkha IV and that the Assyrian Democratic Organization is headed by Patriarch Zakka.

Proceeding from what has been presented, it has become inevitable that change must take place within the Assyrian national movement, and adopting new harsh methods which the Assyrians have not been used until now, is the ideal solution after the failure of the classical methods that allowed and facilitated the uprooting of large parts of Assyrianism through the organized Kurdo-Islamic terrorism which is not a new chapter in the degenerative chapters surrounding the geography of Assyria but it was preceded by several chapters under different headings considered the pride of the degenerative ruling regimes and societies, the most notable of these chapters are the "Caliphate State", “Sultanate”, "Arab country”, and finally "federal region" then “the democratic Iraq".

Therefore, the best solution to face the degenerative surroundings is to impose "progressiveness" at first in the Assyrian society, and to face treason inside the Assyrian House where there is no place for democracy, referendum or "asking for clergy’s opinions" when addressing the issue of Assyrian national ideology which we lack as a reference in our political behavior, adding to this, we are a people dispersed demographically and intellectually.

The prime responsible for leading the Assyrian nationalist movement into the jungles of the degenerative surroundings is the representative elected by the people, and not the one who is appointed by the enemies of the nation, because each is accountable before those who assigned him to the task. The elected one is accountable before the people, and the Kurdish puppet is accountable before his masters while the nation has nothing to do with him at least as long as the one who was elected by the nation has forsaken it. The clergy also can not be blamed for their corruption and lies, because they are cowards by character and if they had noticed any “manhood” in the official Assyrian political representation, they wouldn’t have dared to deflower politics.

Going back to the wise words of the English writer and thinker Douglas Jerrold on "treason", we conclude from the hard facts presented that the senior Assyrian traders (voted in by the people) had already made the “Assyrian Diamond” and handed it over to the small traders (clergy and appointed politicians) since 2003, they in turn exchanged and enjoyed the benefits, and they would be the ones blamed, while the diamond makers have already enjoyed the luxuries by being dignified and honored.

Thus, the Assyrian national movement needs a "national court" or "national security council" to oversee a disciplinary organization whose duty would be to "remind" (at least with an ear rub) the Assyrian politicians [specially those elected by the people (senior traders)] of their duties and draw the red lines in dealing with the Assyrian Cause because they have to be the nation’s servants not the other way around.

This is the only way for the Assyrian people to acquire the respect of its degenerative surroundings, and let the big traders understand from the moment they read these lines that the shoes of an Assyrian widow waiting at the gates of western embassies is more valuable than their representation.

Isn’t the Assyrian harshness against an Assyrian politician with a defeated attitude, sweeter and more honorable than the harshness of Kurdification, Islamization, Arabization and displacement of the entire Assyrian nation?
