"...people tell you, indignantly, that they are providing and protecting the freedom that I live under...meaning the crimes they committed in Iraq and will commit elsewhere, so how dare I criticize, or even think?" - That line of bullshit lost its reasoning power -- that is, if it genuinely had any. Perhaps when the Nazis (with the help of our own corporations) were getting closer to seemingly conquer the world, then it's understandable how the masses readily accepted that "our boys" prevented the enemy from winning and saved us from "losing our freedom and our way of life." And with the massive public relations (PR) techniques and added subtle Nazi propanganda methods imported into our post-war media, the sheeple were once again thankful for "our boys" and bombs for tearing to a thousand pieces millions of innocents (mostly yellow and brown folks) so that the "godless commies" don't enslave us all and force us all to have free education, free healthcare, affordable housing, etc. People who parrot these words lack basic critical thinking. If for once they truthfully examined the source of what has, what is, and what will inevitabley swallow up what's left of our freedom and our way of life (for those who can actually afford a modest life or "lifestyle"), then they would form the first non-violent commitee in their neigborhoods, and fight the real "good war", the relentless, never-ending corporate class war waged by the few against the rest of humanity and against the chocking and dying planet that's been raped, pillaged and battered for as long as Western man decided to conquer her and subjugate her to his will. --------------------- |
