Muslims and scholars have criticized the Saudi government for a long time now. Whenever a government picks and chooses and does not practice Islam, such atcions can be expected. Islam is not oppressive toward women and that goes against what Muhammad(pbuh) taught. He told Muslims both men and women to seek knowledge and that is obligatory for both. Women have the right to divorce, say "no" in marriage, choose and refuse, own property a business, and much more. If a man is found guilty of cheating on his wife, he is to be put to death just as a women would, the rule applies for both married men and women. However, there has to be "established proof" and not "speculation" or "accusation". If the evidence is the least contradicting, the accusers will recieve 80 lashes each and never take their testimonies again. Now, if some one accuses me of cheating on my wife fro example, I will not sit there and not defend myself against the accusation. If the witnesses are telling lies, they will immediately be proven wrong by my testimony and they'll be proven "liars" and they'll receive 80 lashes each.

I don't think anyone in the right mind would bare false witness under Islamic law. One can always remember the truth, but never a lie or a myth, so if they are lying against me, they'll be proven wrong. Secondly, if I allowed myself to be caught by 4 witnesses cheating on my wife, Then I deserve to be stoned to death. That's the "key" there has to be "proof", but when Islam is not truly followed, then the corrupt government can do whatever. Islam can never be oppressive because it's message is to liberate people.

Prophet Muhammad(saaws) said "do not be the oppressors nor become the oppressed" and he further said to "help your brother whether he is the oppressed or the oppressor", and when he was asked how one can help if he is the "oppressor" he answered "by preventing him from oppressing others". The message is clear. Women received their rights 1,400 years ago with the revelation of the Quran. While women in Christianity are not allowed to "divorce" or even "question in the house of God" women in Islam can do that and have always done so under Islam, but when Islam is not practiced, corruption is to be expected. So, when these hatemongers ignore the facts and wish to make a case against Islam due to their hatred, one can come up with more against them. At least, we know that Islam is not what the media or the Saudi government does or say, but in Christianity women can't do many of the things, but it is "secularism in the west" which granted them what they have now. Muslim women received their rights 1,400 years ago while Christian women got theirs from secular governments and not their churches.

Just as we don't judge a ethnic group as a whole by the actions of their people, we should judge a faith by the actions of some of it's people, but we should rather go to its sources. Don't go to a Christian web site and learn about Islam just as we don't go to the kkk to learn about Judaism. Islam is continuing to grow and in may areas of the world and especially the west, it is women who outnumber the men in converts. Do these educated people in the west not hear the stuff obn the media and all the books that were written by Christian missionaries? of course they do, and they decided to research Islam from it's sources and compare it with the stuff we hear from the media and from Christian Islam haters.

I had to swallow my prejudices and I decided to play fair and research Islam just as I researched anything else, and within a few hours I was a different person. I felt stupid, betrayed and cheated for all the years that I believed the crap I was being fed. I had to regret and seriously repent for all the nasty things I ever said or did against Muslims and Islam. So, this Jublat clown wants to get a kick out of quoting some "famous imam" from his imagination he can do all he wants. If I were to do the same, I could dig up far more than what he can ever do, but I have better things to do, and people can judge for themselves where and who is telling the truth. For every lie they spread, Islam speaks for itself. They say Islam is "oppressive" and "intolerant" yet it is under Islam that others survived and prospered, they say it was "spreade by the sword" yet lands which never came under Islam have some of the highest Muslim populations, they say Islam is "oppressive toward women" yet women converts outnumber men in many cases especially in the West.

So, it is obvious that Islam is not what these haters would like us to think and people who care to know will research for themselves and make judgement. How easy and simple Islam is. No "dip in the pool" "original sin" a "mysterious trinity" which we can never understand but "we have to have faith" no "sell everything you got and wait for heaven" no being slaves to others or being oppressed but "liberation" "freedom" and "justice". That is what Islam offers and Islam offers much more freedom then what these ppl think or claim. The Saudi government is corrupt and we know that too. There is nothing in Islam that prevents "women from using the best available transportation available". For example, during the time of Muhammad(pbuh, there were no cars and people used whatever was best back then, and that goes for both men and women. Today we have cars and we use them whether men and women. Don't judge Islam from what Pastor Robertson says or CNN or some other clown does or claims, but go to its source and ask the real Muslims who know their faith. Tell all those female converts who traded in their bikinis and boy friends for Islam, ask them how oppressive Islam is, they laugh because they use to hear and believe all kinds of craziness.
