>Good... I am puzzled, though, why someone like Levy, who's lived in Israel all of his life and is a life-long Leftist, to my knowledege has never written about this "cash cow" set-up by the West. Could it be that he's strictly writing to his Jewish brethren and placing all the responsibility on them?

I'm just as puzzled about why American Leftists and pundits don't write about the cash incentive in all these wars...I mean as the one real and major reason we have them at all....don't they see to what lengths capitalists will go in America, what they are willing to do to poison the air and water for their own children...how many Americans die in work related accidents or are living on the streets?

And it isn't because there is no money...they print it up whenever they need another round of Monopoly...gold, silver or oil has nothing to do with it..it is strictly a game which makes their lives a little exciting, a little meaningful....one of the things we poor people never seem to realize is how terrible it is when you finally attain those magical riches and can buy ten Rolls Royces before breakfast and a yacht for dinner...and do it all over again the next day...how empty life becomes when you've chased trinkets all your life and have finally arrived at that peak only to discover how worthless and meaningless everything this society holds dear really is...by then you've shed your wife and children, your real friendships and most likely your physical and mental health...and ALL that is left you to make it not seem as if it has been a huge waste is more of the hair of the dog that bit you...more money and now, with a vengeance!!!

Is it because pundits and Lefties secretly yearn for the same wealth...if only they knew how to get it? When America's love affair with money for money's sake is so prevalent...so in our faces, why can't we admit the obvious...that this country will literally do anything to make money?

Is it too simple? Do people prefer long-winded, seemingly complex or intellectual explications? Does it bolster their pride...their sense of achievement? It's like economics which is made to be so complex, so intricate, so impossible to follow when it's all so fucking simple you could puke!

War makes money. We all know that in the back of our heads but refuse to level the accusation at ourselves and country....is it too embarrassing a thing to admit? The house of Krupp was tried after WW II and the Germans were shocked to discover that Krupp made money off of every dead German soldier, because he was killed by a Krupp bullet....we have been preying off each other for centuries...we've been hunting down humans for profit for so long maybe it's become a part of our nature, our civilized nature.

I don't know why Levy, or Finklestein doesn't speak to this...to the simple cash incentive for these wars...it's right there in front of everyone's nose, everyone agrees when it is pointed out to them, but they refuse to come out and SAY it...that these modern wars are BUSINESS...they admit that the United States makes most of its foreign sales in weapons...but what good would having all these arms merchants do if there was peace?

What good would it do to build cars if everyone walked?
