...just finished listening...excellent.

I´m getting mighty tried of Hitchens. It´s an ever growing puzzle how he can stick to the point when discussing religion and yet wander all over the place, firing rockets from his arse when it comes to the whole terror thing and Islam.

Tariq´s reaction the first round of fireworks was spot balls on...he simply said, "intellectual clutter".

...The guy will NOT stick to the point...he´s so caught up in his own razzle dazzle and treacly cutness that he can´t resist putting on a display meant to wow people rather than enlighten...it almost seems like his tactic is to throw out as much garbage as he can so that on rebuttal his opponent is forced to clear the air, clean up the joint and so time passes and the evening ends.

...I was struck by how deftly Finkelstein refused to play the same game by repeatedly telling Dershowitz that he was not interested in debating him, that he was not going to waste time by answering every "what if....?" question thrown out to clutter the conversation....he said over and over, catching Dershowitz every time he tried it,,,"Sir, I want to discuss the facts".

...I think white people, in America and Britain are intent on creating a single empire-bloc through which they can, in every real yet modern sense of the word, rule the world. They see this as their time, as their best chance now that the Soviet Union collapsed and no one is there to seriously oppose them...and, before China rises to that status, which it will soon...and maybe that´s why they´re in a rush.

This may answer Tariq´s stated confusion as to why Hitchens, a former champion of Leftist causes has gone over to the Dark Side...perhaps he, and others one would expect better from, woke up with a start to realize that white culture may not be dominant any longer in numbers, so that they had better rush quickly to secure white POWER.

It seems more likely than ever that the United States deliberately set in motion the very existence of terrorist gangs it USED and trained and left to run amok when the more secular nations they were dumped in refused to have anything to do with them...

The war on terror, like images of 9/11 and the Holocaust are being used as justification for whatever America wants to do to secure and spread its power...in the end of course it won´t work, it never has, it never CAN....but, tons of money will go to fewer and fewer people and that may be all they really want because these kinds of people really believe that money is power. The rest of us will suffer for it for generations to come...and we will deserve to suffer for allowing it to happen.

We already are suffering, though not enough...and what I think of Obama is that wittingly or not, his presidency is the break the neo-cons had to have in order to STABILIZE and normalize their past gains...after which they´ll be ready for another round.
