He said he just wanted people to "stop bombing my country.".

...Imagine an English kid born in Germany to English parents who'd moved to Berlin...imagine his new country of Germany, of which he is a citizen, begins bombing London and starving English kids, just like himself and like his sister and parents etc. Would it be so far-fetched that he would want to hurt Germans in return?

...armies can defeat other armies and the war usually ends...but when the victorious army occupies and then abuses and murders the civilian population and does it for 20 years, it is going to arouse anger and indignation and hatred...is that so hard to understand? It is a normal, natural, human sentiment, and people will risk their lives and fight with their teeth if they have to because they have less and less to lose and nothing to gain by being docile, except more humiliation...especially if the occupying power, such as the United States, practices collective punishment...I mean someone is bound to strike back, and then 500 people are killed as a way of teaching a lesson...except you've just made more enemies and so it goes and the United States knows that and knew it perfectly well when it started down this path.

...don't we applaud the French who went underground and sabotaged and murdered German soldiers and any other Germans they could get to...aren't they heroes to us? And what do we think of the German occupiers? Exactly!
