>= Where the whole nation or group exterminated? Was that the goal of the war? to exterminate the nation or a group?

..."conspiracy to exterminate" says nothing about whether you succeed or not...no, not all Iraqis have been exterminated...but then neither were all Jews...you have to get over the NUMBER of people killed or even HOW they were killed...it is the government-sponsored and clearly stated INTENT todo so that determines genocide...and United States Sec, of State Madeline Albright admitted in an interview that the death by starvation of 5000 Iraqi babies a month, due to sanctions, was an "acceptable POLICY" of our government...a policy INTENDED to inspire their grieving parenst to rise up against Saddam...THAT fits the definition perfectly...whether they wiped out ALL Iraqi children is not the point...they TARGETED all Iraqi children...THAT is the point.

...the war ended in four days...Bush said "mission accomplished"...and then the Occupation started and has lasted for 7 years...there was , there was no war on the fifth day, there was no regime on the sixth day...the targets on the eigth day were Iraqi civilians, people who dared arm themselves and accept help from outsiders(as the United States would help Canada if Iraq was dedimating it)to fight the occupation, there has been no war these last 7 years. Yes, the civilan population, which is all that is left in Iraq, was indeed targeted...

>= It says "merely because of their affiliation with such groups". Does this apply to Iraq?

...Iraqis are members of the group IRAQIS...as Jews were members of the group JEWS. Who else did the United States target when it occupied Iraq?

>= There are many Muslim nations who have lots of oil such as Saudi Arabia and rest of the gulf states, and they're all living peacefully.

...yes, one may well wonder why Bush didnīt attack Saudi Arabia, since 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis...and not a one was Iraqi. Give the United States time and cause and will attack anyone and everyone it wants to...20 years ago you could have said, "Iraq has oil and I donīt see the United States attacking IT"...what matters is the PATTERN and the thinking behind these patterns that the United States has exhibited for the last few decades...right now they are not attacking Iran....how confident do you suppose we should be that they WONT?
