I don't know if you noticed when you were here last time, but from the 105 E. on-ramp from the airport in El Segundo, Ca, you can clearly see the monolith buildings of Raytheon, Boeing and Northrup Grumman, the three "kings" of global death and destruction. I drive past these buildings when I take my mom to work. It's so inconspicuous, just another business building next to other business buildings, mainly banks. So if one were to point out the vortex of massive death and massive profits, all one has to do is drive around the square block where banks and military hardware corporations are located. It's almost surreal. L.A. the "city of lights" according Jim Morrison, is a city of war makers. Then of course there's RAND CORP. in Santa Monica, where Kissinger-types teach future... Kissinger-types. And at the east end of the city: Hollywood, where more and more films are being made about the "good guys" who shoot first (and from the hip) and ask questions last... where so-called Hollywood "leftists" make films with the help of the CIA: the stupid, shallow "Argo" (won best picture) and "Zero Dark Thirty" (yet, another best picture) were made with the consultation of the CIA, and with props provided by Raytheon, Boeing and Northrup Grumman to make the film look "realistic". Bullshit! They are simply advertising their death machines, and through beloved actors/actresses, they're legitimizing the white hat/light skin "heroes" vs the black hat/dark skin "villains". Not for art. Not for morality. But merely for the bottom-line -- a word which I detest.
