A few years ago I'm sitting at a temp service place("pimp agencies" as I call them) and this Iranian lady is in there also. She put down that she speaks Farsi and the ignorant ladies in the office were lost. They were trying to figure out what language that is and I explained to them. The one who was looking at my paper work say, "oh, what are you?" And we started talking about Iraq after she asked me about it. She expected me to say all the things Bush and media says and I said the opposite, how Iraq is worse now, dangerous and all that. I told her the sanctions murdered over a million and the current war has caused more deaths than Saddam could have ever done in 30 years. She couldn't agree so she says, "yeah, but I imagine it still has to be better than living under a dictator who tells you what to do and women had to cover head to toes".

That statement was enough for me to realize this bitch was clueless. First of all, Saddam was secular, I told her. Secondly, life wasn't worse under him. Iraq had best living standards in the region with great health care and education for all. I guess killing two million is okay as long as the US is doing it. It is acceptable because they are the "good guys" and bringing freedom and democracy. If the hooker had done just a little research other than watching the propaganda on TV, she would have known that Iraq had democracy prior to Saddam and his party came to power with backing of Washington. Iraqis elected their leader, Qasim, and Saddam was hired to get rid of him. Saddam was put there to stop democracy, demolish the social welfare state and did all of the killings when he was on US payroll.

So who is the real terrorist here? Whatever Saddam did, it wasn't worse than what other leaders have done, and he actually cared about Iraqis contrary to what the west says. He even cared about Shias and Kurds except when they rebelled against him. This is why he humiliated them on TV and took swipes at them for what they were doing even after he made them better. The Shias of the south used to wear the same old robes, dirty, no electricity, education, etc. He educated them, put electricity in their towns, introduced them to wearing suits and ties. The small town my mother was born in had no electricity in those days but it had years later because of Saddam. And then one of my old Assyrian neighbors told me how he stayed visiting the poorer areas of Iraq, seeing what they were eating and what they were lacking. He was giving them money and turned Iraq into something special. This is where he stepped out of line because he didn't remain loyal employee of Washington and it was time to go. If he had just obeyed and did what he was supposed to do, he could kill every Iraqi and still be there today. Come on, it's not like America doesn't mind dictators. Didn't Musharaf kill his own, or what about Mubarak and Saleh of Yemen? It's not like women in Saudi or those other countries have it better than Iraqis under Saddam.

Americans don't like it when truth is told about their country's policies and actions around the world. When you mention the backing of Saddam during the 70s, and 80s, Americans will quickly cut you off and say "that was our mistake in the past" but that's bullshit. Not mistakes. They know exactly what they were doing. The sanctions weren't Saddam's fault no matter how they cut it. He was the one who fed his people in the end while America was starving them. Just like Castro is feeding his people while America has blockades against them. He has stood with Cubans throughout the years and they love him for that. The man makes 30 dollars a month, for god's sake, and they suppose to hate their leader? I can assure these dumb Americans that more people around the world like Saddam, Castro and Gaddafi. They are more liked around the world than Bush, Reagan or Obama now.
