It's interesting that the early European settlers (the Puritans) referred to the US as the "Shining City on a Hill" and how American presidents - from JFK to Obama - perpetuate this myth in their speeches to celebrate and promote "American Exceptionalism".

("Winthrop's 'City on a Hill' was a call to righteous living on god's covenant with his 'New Israel' in 1630 Massachusetts. Winthrop's sermon gave rise to the widespread belief in American folklore that the United States of America is God's country because metaphorically it is a Shining City on a Hill...watched by the world" [Wikepedia]).

Does not the description above share a similar projected supremacy like that of Israelis who claim that Israel is the "shining light" and "the only Democracy" in the Middle East, where the "moral" Israel Defense Forces (IDF) protect and secure God's chosen people from the savage Arabs?

Maybe one day the Palestinians will be allowed to open up casinos in the occupied territories of West Bank and Gaza. That is, if they kick up enough loot to the mafiosi Zionists and their Christian godfathers who pull the strings from across the Atlantic in 'New Israel'.
