Dear David,
A forum is a public meeting place for open discussion. However, like anything else, some parts of the public will abuse such a place simply because they may have their own political or personal agenda, or certain grievances they think are more important than someone else’s, in which case they will begin to abuse their privileges and demand or expect certain responses that would serve their goals/ agendas.

...that's exactly what a public forum is supposes to provide...a place for ALL the pubilc to participate. No one has to open posts they may not like by people whose views they know.

If I had it my way, we would only have ONE Assyrian forum for all those who are responsible enough to share their views, without further expectations, but as you know, this has never been accomplished within the Assyrian community, simply because each forum has a specific mission, be it political or personal. For example, many on this forum have tried to participate on other Assyrian forums, but they are either banned because they didn’t conform to the intended ideology of the forum, or defamed for their independent political or personal beliefs.

...This is just that sort of forum...it's open to everyone regardless. The fact that most of them are afraid of it means most of us a fearful people who need to AVOID open forums. It isn't for lack of opportunity....it's for lack of guts.
